Getting Around Bremerhaven
Bremerhaven, a city of about 118,000 people on the east bank of the Weser estuary, belongs to the state of Bremen but lies 63 km downriver from it. Its port is among the largest container ports in Europe, and more than two million cars are imported or exported through it every year, so a business visit here may well lead to terminals, shipping lines and logistics firms along the waterfront.
In the centre, the Havenwelten district by the old harbour holds the Klimahaus and the German Emigration Center. Cruise ships berth at the Columbus Cruise Center, on the Columbuskaje beside the Weser.
The Hauptbahnhof was reconnected to the Intercity network in late 2021 after two decades without long-distance trains. If you arrive on one, add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
For a day of meetings at several port companies, booked by the hour, one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve. If the meeting is inside a port area, send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.

Airport Transfers in Bremerhaven
Bremen Airport is the closest, 66 km south along the A27, 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes. Hanover Airport is 173 km away, 2 hours to 2 hours 40 minutes, and Hamburg Airport 188 km, 2 hours 5 minutes to 2 hours 50 minutes; for a cruise or an intercontinental connection one of these larger airports may suit your route better. The right one depends on your airline and route. In 2025 the busiest routes from Bremen Airport were to Munich and Frankfurt. Hamburg Airport has its own S-Bahn station (S1) beneath the Airport Plaza between the two terminals.
Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Bremerhaven, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes to Bremen Airport, and from 2 hours 5 minutes to Hamburg Airport, more if traffic slows on the way into Hamburg. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Multi-City Travel from Bremerhaven
Bremen is 63 km south, 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes, so a morning appointment there still leaves the afternoon for Bremerhaven. Bremen has a low-emission zone (Umweltzone) in the central city, which needs a green sticker. Hamburg is 179 km, 2 hours to 2 hours 40 minutes, and Hanover 180 km, about the same. If your ship sails from Hamburg instead, the city has three cruise centres, in Altona, Steinwerder and HafenCity. For a concert at the Elbphilharmonie, note that the approach bridge from Baumwall is closed until February 2028; the venue points visitors to Brooksbrücke instead, about 500 m away.
For a sailing from the Baltic coast, Travemünde is 255 km away, 2 hours 45 minutes to 3 hours 45 minutes, and Warnemünde 362 km, 3 hours 45 minutes to 5 hours 5 minutes. Further south, Dortmund is 285 km away, 3 hours to 4 hours 5 minutes, and Essen 301 km, 3 hours 10 minutes to 4 hours 15 minutes. After a cruise, a car from the quay to your home in the Ruhr spares you a change of train with all your luggage; the whole trip is one booking.

Groups & Cruise Travel in Bremerhaven
If your group is sailing from Bremerhaven, the day is set by the ship. On embarkation and disembarkation days at the Columbus Cruise Center, passengers reach the quay with luggage for a week or more, some of them straight from a flight into Bremen, Hanover or Hamburg. Port and logistics delegations are a different case: they move between terminals and offices along the river.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If the passengers land on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. For a party joining the same ship, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load, which on a cruise day means large suitcases.
Book as soon as you know the sailing date. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early on cruise days. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
