Getting Around Sóller
Sóller is two places. The town sits inland, in a valley of orange and lemon groves, and Port de Sóller lies on the bay about 5 km away. A tram has linked the two since 1913, running down Es Born, past the Plaça de la Constitució and through the orchards to the harbour. The town has the squares and the orchards; the port has the beach and the boats.
Sóller has its own railway, though not a mainline one. The heritage train from Plaça d'Espanya in Palma takes about an hour through 13 tunnels and arrives at Sóller station, where the tram to the port begins. Include your train details and arrival time when booking so we can arrange your pickup at the station.
For an evening out, Fornalutx is about 4 km up the valley, Deià about 11 km along the coast road, and Valldemossa about 22 km to the south-west. Book a transfer there and a second one back at the pickup time you set.
Since February 2026 the centre of Sóller, inside the Ma-11 bypass, has been a low-emission zone checked by plate-reading cameras around the clock. Access is limited to local and authorised vehicles, and the seafront of Port de Sóller has a restricted-access area of its own. Send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.

Airport Transfers to Sóller
Palma de Mallorca Airport is the island's main commercial airport, about 40 km from Sóller, and the transfer takes 35 to 50 minutes. It handles scheduled passenger flights to Mallorca. Travellers can also arrive by sea, including at Palma ferry port.
The route crosses the plain on the Ma-19 and Palma's Ma-20 ring road, then runs north on the Ma-11 to the Sóller tunnel, about 3 km through the Serra d'Alfàbia, which opened in 1997. The older road over the Coll de Sóller is a narrow mountain pass that is closed to heavy traffic. Journey times vary with traffic and the time of day.
Book with your flight number: your chauffeur monitors your flight and adjusts the pickup if your arrival time changes. Your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. Leaving Sóller, allow for the drive to the airport when choosing your pickup time: 35 to 50 minutes to PMI, longer in August. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Island & Ferry Travel from Sóller
A Sóller stay can be combined with a few days in the city. A few nights in Palma, about 26 km south through the tunnel, before or after the valley, or a move to Valldemossa, about 22 km along the mountain road, is one booking with the luggage, from one hotel to the next.
Part of the coast north of the port is also reached by boat. Barcos Azules sails from Port de Sóller to Sa Calobra, about an hour each way, where the Torrent de Pareis gorge opens onto the beach, and to Cala Tuent, with a timetable that changes with the season. A transfer to the harbour before the boat is an ordinary booking.
Leaving Mallorca by sea starts at Palma port, where ferries sail to Barcelona, Valencia, Ibiza and Menorca. The car runs from the valley through the tunnel to the terminal; set the pickup time to suit the sailing, and the confirmation shows it.

Groups, Luggage & Summer Travel in Sóller
Groups in Sóller travel with kit as well as cases: a walking party starting a stage of the GR 221, the dry-stone route through the Tramuntana, which has its Muleta refuge above the port; cyclists with bike boxes; guests of a private event arriving on several flights. Both the passenger count and the amount of luggage determine the vehicle size. Tell us what you are bringing and the vehicle is matched to the load. A Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats. If the group arrives on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own.
Coaches and heavy vehicles reach the valley only by the Ma-11 and its tunnel, because the Coll de Sóller road is closed to heavy traffic. The heritage train and the tram bring day visitors from Palma, and the Sa Calobra boats follow a seasonal timetable. In May, Es Firó re-enacts the 1561 corsair attack over several days, in the port and in the town.
The dates to book early are Es Firó in May and the summer months. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early for those dates. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
