Getting Around Palma
Palma's working addresses sit along the bay. The Palau de Congressos stands on the seafront Paseo Marítimo, about 5 minutes from the airport and a 15-minute walk from the cathedral and the old town, with two auditoriums for 1,966 and 471 people. The city's hotels recorded more than 10 million overnight stays in 2025, 93% of them by guests from abroad.
Mallorca has no AVE; its main rail network is operated by SFM. Trains to Inca, sa Pobla and Manacor leave from the Intermodal station under Plaça d'Espanya, and the heritage Sóller train leaves from its own station beside it. Ferries from Barcelona, Valencia, Ibiza and Menorca arrive at the terminals on the Avinguda de Gabriel Roca, west of the old town. Include your ferry details and arrival time when booking so we can arrange your pickup at the port.
For a delegate with a full day of sessions and meetings, at the Palau or at a hotel in Puerto Portals, about 11 km west, hourly service reserves one chauffeur and one vehicle for the hours you book. Send the plan for the day with the booking.
The centre inside the ring of avenues has been a low-emission zone since December 2024, with cameras that check each plate against the DGT label register. It tightens in phases: vehicles with the B label are due to be excluded from January 2027, and from 2030 only ECO and zero-emission vehicles will be admitted. Send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.

Airport Transfers in Palma
Palma de Mallorca Airport is the island's main commercial airport, about 8 km east of the centre, a transfer of 15 to 25 minutes. The Palau de Congressos is closer still, about 5 minutes from the terminal, which suits a speaker who lands on the morning of a session. Apart from flights, Palma is reached by sea, at the ferry port.
From the centre the road is the Ma-19 motorway along the bay. Journey times vary with traffic and weather.
Book with your flight number: your chauffeur monitors your flight and adjusts the pickup if your arrival time changes. Your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. Leaving Palma, allow for the drive to the airport when choosing your pickup time: 15 to 25 minutes to PMI, longer in August. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Island & Ferry Travel from Palma
A stay in Palma can continue elsewhere on the island. Sóller, about 25 km north through the Tramuntana, and Valldemossa, about 20 km, are close enough for a day. Alcúdia and Pollença, both about 55 km north-east on the Ma-13, suit a move to the north coast for the rest of the holiday. Each move is booked as one journey with all the luggage, from the hotel you leave to the next one.
Sóller also has its own heritage train from Plaça d'Espanya, about an hour through 13 tunnels. By road the same trip takes 30 to 40 minutes.
Ibiza and Menorca are reached by sea. Ferries leave Palma for Ibiza, Ciutadella, Barcelona and Valencia; GNV, one of the operators, takes about 3 hours 45 minutes to Ibiza and asks foot passengers to check in an hour before departure. Set the pickup time to suit the sailing's departure; the confirmation shows it.

Groups & Congress Travel in Palma
Large groups come to Palma for congresses and on cruise ships. A full main auditorium at the Palau de Congressos means close to 2,000 delegates to move between PMI, their hotels and the Palau. At sea, the port authority expected 551 cruise calls in Palma in 2025, with capacity for more than 1.8 million passengers.
An organiser can hold the whole programme in a single account, with each transfer booked and confirmed on its own: the keynote speaker from PMI, the delegation arriving by ferry, the guests going on to a dinner in Puerto Portals. Where a group moves together, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats. If the group arrives on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own.
The periods to book ahead include January, for the Sant Sebastià festivities, the Palma International Boat Show at the turn of April and May, the Copa del Rey sailing regatta in summer, and the peak months of July and August, when local vehicles and drivers are booked up early. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
