Palma Airport to Palma: Route and Drive Time
Palma de Mallorca Airport lies about 8 km east of the city, next to Can Pastilla and the Playa de Palma. From the terminal the car joins the Ma-19 motorway, which follows the bay west into Palma, and the drive usually takes 15–25 minutes.
Over 8 km, the hour you land and the part of the city you are going to count for more than the kilometres. The Palau de Congressos, on the seafront Paseo Marítimo, is about 5 minutes from the terminal. The cathedral and the old town are further along the bay, and the ferry terminals on Avinguda de Gabriel Roca lie beyond them, 11–13 km from the airport and 25–35 minutes by road. In August every road on the island is slower.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. Give the flight number when you book, together with the street and number of your address in Palma, not only the name of the hotel.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Palma Airport
Palma has one terminal, divided into four modules, A to D. Module C handles most flights from the rest of Europe and module B the inter-island routes, but every arriving passenger comes out on the same arrivals floor, Floor 0. Aena's meeting area is in the middle of that floor, opposite the airport information office.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules. For a speaker who is due at the Palau the same morning, the drive then starts from the time the aircraft actually lands, not the one printed on the boarding pass.
The terminal is being remodelled, and Aena has brought money forward from its next investment cycle to shorten the works, so some areas of the building stay under construction in 2026 and 2027. The airport stays open and arrivals come out as before, while corridors and facilities inside move as sections are handed over.

Arriving at Your Address in Palma
Since December 2024 the centre of Palma within the avenues ring has been a low-emission zone, a ZBE. Cameras at the entry points read each plate against the DGT environmental label register; there are no barriers. From 1 January 2027 the B label is scheduled to lose access. Separately, several older quarters are ACIRE areas, restricted to residents, and much of the surrounding centre is ORA paid parking.
For a hotel in the old town, we will tell you the nearest point the car can reach. Hotels on the Paseo Marítimo and the Palau de Congressos are reached directly along the bay. For a sailing, name the terminal printed on your ticket: the port authority is reorganising the port of Palma, with ferry traffic to be concentrated at the Dique del Oeste, the Muelle de Poniente and the commercial quays.
Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up.

From Palma Back to Palma Airport
Leaving Palma, the useful thing to know is how long the road takes, not when to leave: 15–25 minutes to PMI, longer in heavy traffic. The pickup time you choose is confirmed with the reservation.
Departures use a separate floor of the same terminal building, so the module of your gate does not change the drop-off. A pickup at the Palau de Congressos is the quickest of the city runs, since the Palau stands on the airport side of the bay.
Cruise passengers leave from the port. The port authority's priority cruise berths are the Dique del Oeste and the Muelle de Poniente Norte, about 12.5 km from the terminal and 25–35 minutes by road. Put the ship's name and the time it is due alongside on the booking, and set a pickup time with room to disembark with your luggage.
