Getting Around Granada
Granada's congress venue is in the city itself. The Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos has 45,000 m² on seven floors, with the García Lorca auditorium for 2,000 and the Manuel de Falla for 550, and it sits within walking distance of more than 4,000 hotel rooms. The Alhambra stands on its hill above the centre, while the station and the road to the airport are on the western side of the city, so a stay can mean crossing town on arrival and again to go up to the Alhambra.
High-speed trains have run to Granada since June 2019 over the line through Antequera, with direct services to Madrid and Barcelona. The station, on Avenida de los Andaluces, is about 2 km from the centre. Include your train details and arrival time when booking so we can arrange your pickup at the station.
Entry to the Nasrid Palaces is only permitted at the time shown on the ticket, so give that time when you book the transfer up to the Alhambra. For a full congress day, you can book one chauffeur and one vehicle by the hour: you name where the day begins and ends and how many hours you need, and the day's plan goes in with the booking.
The whole city is a low-emission zone, around the clock, and parts of the centre, the Albaicín, Sacromonte and the Realejo are access-controlled areas, where bollards and number-plate cameras let in only authorised vehicles and public transport. Send us the full address at booking, and we will say how close to it the car can get.

Airport Transfers in Granada
Granada has its own airport, Federico García Lorca Granada-Jaén, about 20 km west of the centre, and the transfer takes 30 to 40 minutes. Many international visitors fly into Málaga instead, about 136 km away, for its wider choice of routes, and that drive takes 1 hour 35 minutes to 2 hours 10 minutes. The best choice depends on the available flights as well as the transfer distance.
Both routes leave the city on the A-92 to the west. The Granada Airport run is short and mainly follows the motorway; the Málaga run continues west on the A-92 and then turns south on the A-92M and AP-46 down to the coast, a road that crosses the mountains between Granada and the sea. Traffic and weather affect the journey time, above all on the mountain section.
Book with your flight number. For airport pickups, your chauffeur monitors your flight and adjusts the pickup if your arrival time changes. Your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. Leaving Granada, allow for the drive to the airport when choosing your pickup time: 30 to 40 minutes to the Granada airport, 1 hour 35 minutes to 2 hours 10 minutes to Málaga, longer in bad weather. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Multi-City Travel from Granada
Granada can be one leg of a wider Andalusian trip. After a congress or a few days at the Alhambra, the next address may be Córdoba, about 165 km north-west, or Seville, about 255 km west, for meetings or a second city stay. A single booking covers the journey from your Granada hotel to the next one with the same car and driver, at the pickup time you choose.
Málaga, about 125 km south-west, is the way down to the coast, and a few days in Granada can be followed by a week on the Costa del Sol; the transfer runs straight from the hotel here to the one on the coast.
In winter the mountains are the other direction. Sierra Nevada, about 33 km from the city, has more than 110 km of marked pistes, and the road climbs to the resort in 40 to 55 minutes. Both the number of skiers and their ski bags determine the vehicle size, so include both details when you book.

Groups & Congress Travel in Granada
Congresses bring large groups to Granada. When, for example, the SEMERGEN national primary care congress met at the Palacio de Congresos in October 2025, the Granada Convention Bureau listed 5,000 participants. Delegates at a meeting of that size can come in through Granada Airport, through Málaga and on the AVE.
An organiser keeps the entire programme under one account, and each journey in it has its own booking and its own confirmation: the speaker landing at Granada, the delegation on the train from Madrid, the group coming up from Málaga. Where a group moves together, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats.
The months to book ahead are June, with the Corpus fair, June and July for the International Festival of Music and Dance, and the dates of any large congress at the Palacio. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early for those dates. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
