Getting Around Málaga
Many visitors stay in and around the historic centre, but the business addresses are further out. FYCMA, the trade fair and congress centre, sits on the west side of the city, about 7 km by road from the centre, with 60,000 m² of halls, auditoriums and meeting rooms. Málaga TechPark, home to 719 organisations and more than 29,000 employees at the end of 2025, is about 17 km from the centre. A day at both means crossing the city by road.
Many visitors arrive at María Zambrano, the AVE and long-distance station on the south-west side of the centre, with direct high-speed trains from Madrid and Barcelona. The C-1 commuter line leaves from the same station for the airport, Torremolinos and Fuengirola. Include your train details and arrival time when booking so we can arrange your pickup at the station.
For a full congress day or a day of meetings, you can book one chauffeur and one vehicle by the hour: you name where the day begins and ends and how many hours you need, and the day's plan goes in with the booking.
About 400 hectares of central Málaga form a low-emission zone, checked by plate-reading cameras at its access points. Send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.

Airport Transfers in Málaga
Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport is 8 km from the city, and the drive from the centre takes 15 to 30 minutes. A delegate landing for a session can be driven from the terminal straight to FYCMA. Two other airports are within reach for particular trips. Granada, about 113 km away by the A-92 and A-45, has domestic routes and a few European ones. Gibraltar, about 132 km along the coast, has flights mainly to London and other UK cities.
The run to AGP is short, but it takes longer at peak hours and in summer. The roads to Granada and Gibraltar are motorway for most of their length. Journey times vary with traffic and weather.
Book with your flight number. For airport pickups, your chauffeur monitors your flight and adjusts the pickup if your arrival time changes. Your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. Leaving Málaga, allow for the drive to the airport when choosing your pickup time: 15 to 30 minutes from the centre to AGP, longer in the summer season. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Cross-Border Travel from Málaga
Many trips carry on inland. Granada is about 125 km away and Ronda about 105 km, both close enough for a visit and a return the same evening. Córdoba, about 160 km north, and Seville, about 205 km west, are working journeys of their own: a client in Seville after a congress at FYCMA, a meeting in Córdoba on the way home. A single booking covers the journey from your hotel in Málaga to the meeting address with the same chauffeur.
Gibraltar is the cross-border run, about 135 km along the coast by the AP-7 and A-7. It is booked like any other trip, with the same chauffeur and car from start to finish, with no change of vehicle at the border.
Gibraltar is not part of the EU, and the frontier is crossed at La Línea. Have with you the documents that your nationality and route call for.

Groups & Congress Travel in Málaga
Groups arrive in Málaga by ship as well as by plane: in 2025, for example, the port counted 570,481 cruise passengers on 331 calls. Congress groups at FYCMA come in by several routes: speakers on different flights, a delegation from the station, and then everyone to a dinner in the old town.
Whoever handles the logistics keeps the programme in a single account. A speaker landing at AGP, a party arriving at María Zambrano, guests going on to a hotel in Marbella: each transfer is booked and confirmed separately. Where a group moves together, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats.
The months to book ahead are March or April for Holy Week, when processions pass through the centre, June for the Digital Enterprise Show at FYCMA, and August for the Feria, held in the historic centre and at the Cortijo de Torres fairground. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early for those dates. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
