Getting Around Fuengirola
Fuengirola is laid out along its seafront. The promenade runs for more than 8 km, from Sohail Castle at the western end to Torreblanca in the east, past all the main beaches, Los Boliches among them. Hotels and apartments stand along the promenade, and the town also has Bioparc, its zoo. With children and bags, the beach you want may be too far to walk from your building.
Fuengirola is the last station on the C-1 commuter line, about 45 minutes from central Málaga via the airport, with Los Boliches and Torreblanca as stations inside the town. For a high-speed or long-distance train, you get off at María Zambrano in Málaga, about 30 km away. Include your train details and arrival time when booking so we can arrange your pickup at the station.
The evenings reach up the hill and along the coast. Mijas Pueblo, a white village on the mountainside about 430 m above the sea, is about 15 km by road, and Marbella about 35 km to the west. A transfer there and another back, at the times you choose, mean nobody has to drive after dinner.
The streets of the old centre around Calle Larga form Fuengirola's low-emission zone, where entry between 9:00 and 21:00 is limited to registered and authorised vehicles. Send us the full address at booking, and we will say how close to it the car can get.

Airport Transfers to Fuengirola
Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport is about 25 km from Fuengirola. The drive takes 25 to 40 minutes. It is the obvious airport for the town: no other lies within a comparable drive.
The road is the A-7 along the coast, through Torremolinos and Benalmádena. This coastal route can be busy on summer Saturdays, when many groups arrive at the same time. Journey times vary with traffic and the time of day.
Book with your flight number: your chauffeur monitors your flight and adjusts the pickup if your arrival time changes. Your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. Leaving Fuengirola, allow for the drive to the airport when choosing your pickup time: 25 to 40 minutes to AGP, longer on summer Saturdays. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Multi-City Travel from Fuengirola
A fortnight here can be split between two places. Some guests move on to Marbella or Puerto Banús, about 35 to 40 km west, for the second week; others finish with a few nights in Málaga, about 35 km east. Either way, a single booking carries you and all the bags from one address to the next.
The C-1 commuter line ends at Fuengirola. For Marbella, or for Ronda about 90 km inland, the car is the direct option rather than a change of transport. Either trip is booked as one run, hotel to destination.
If you are going home by train, the journey starts at María Zambrano in Málaga, where the AVE departs. The car takes you there from your hotel at the pickup time you choose.

Groups, Luggage & Summer Travel in Fuengirola
Many guests here travel as families or large parties: grandparents, parents and children sharing an apartment for a fortnight, or a group of friends with a day at Bioparc on the plan. Pushchairs, car seats and beach kit decide the vehicle as much as the passenger count, so tell us what you are bringing and the vehicle is matched to the load. A Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats. If the group arrives on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own.
The town has two ferias of its own. The Feria Internacional de los Países falls around the 1 May long weekend. The Feria del Rosario is held at the fairground in October. Both come on top of the July and August season.
The dates to book early are July and August, the start of May and the October feria week. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early for those dates. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
