Getting Around Wurzburg
Wurzburg (Würzburg) sits on the Main, with the old town on the right bank and the fortress on the hill opposite. Its best-known address is the Residenz, the baroque palace on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1981; Tiepolo's ceiling fresco above its staircase is one of the largest in the world.
Conferences meet at the Congress Centrum Würzburg (CCW) on Pleichertorstraße, on the old-town bank of the Main beside the Friedensbrücke. It has an underground car park with 300 spaces.
Würzburg Hauptbahnhof is an ICE junction with trains in several directions. The fastest trains reach Munich in 2 hours 7 minutes and Hamburg in about 3 hours 20 minutes. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
If your day takes in a session at the CCW, a visit to the Residenz with partners and a meeting in an office on the edge of town, book it by the hour: one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve. Send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.

Airport Transfers in Wurzburg
Wurzburg has no airport of its own, and the three nearest are all more than 100 km away. Nuremberg Airport is 108 km east on the A3, 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes. Frankfurt Airport is 125 km west, also on the A3, 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours; flights there use Terminal 1 or Terminal 3, as Terminal 2 shut for refurbishment in June 2026, so give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there. Stuttgart Airport is 163 km south, 1 hour 50 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Wurzburg, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: up to 2 hours to Frankfurt on a clear A3, longer in heavy traffic. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Multi-City Travel from Wurzburg
Two of Franconia's best-known towns are close. Rothenburg ob der Tauber is 69 km south, 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes, and Bamberg 96 km east, 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes, so both are easy day trips. Bamberg's old town was listed by UNESCO in 1993, and Rothenburg still has its town wall all the way round. For business, Frankfurt is 117 km, 1 hour 25 minutes to 1 hour 55 minutes; Nuremberg 109 km, 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes; and Heidelberg 164 km, 1 hour 55 minutes to 2 hours 35 minutes. The NürnbergMesse has more than 170,000 m² of exhibition space and hosts the Spielwarenmesse from 2 to 6 February 2027 and BIOFACH from 16 to 19 February, and the Christkindlesmarkt opens on 27 November 2026. Frankfurt's Book Fair runs from 6 to 10 October 2027, and the Heidelberg Congress Center, opened in 2024, holds up to 3,800 people.
With a car from the hotel straight to your destination, nobody changes trains with luggage. Visiting both Rothenburg and Bamberg in one day? Reserve the day by the hour rather than two single rides.

Groups & Congress Travel in Wurzburg
Wurzburg's calendar has two peaks besides its congresses. The Mozartfest, founded in 1921 and the oldest Mozart festival in Germany, gives around 90 concerts between late May and late June. The Kiliani-Volksfest follows at the turn of June and July. With the nearest airport over an hour away, every delegate's arrival is a long transfer, and timing them matters.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If delegates arrive on several flights, from Frankfurt as well as from Nuremberg, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. When the whole party travels at once, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load.
Late May to mid-July is the period to plan early. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early in those weeks. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
