Getting Around Saarbrucken
Saarbrücken is the capital of the Saarland and sits right on the border with France. Its main station, called the Eurobahnhof, is served by both German ICE and French TGV trains. The fastest connection to Paris takes 1 hour 50 minutes, with up to three direct trains a day, so a guest coming from France can travel by rail instead of flying in. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
The Congresshalle, a venue for congresses and events, is about 600 metres from the station along Faktoreistraße. On a congress day the short drive between station, hotel and hall is easy to cover by car when you carry display material or luggage.
Saarbrücken works well as a base for days that cross the border. For a day with meetings in Saarbrücken and in Metz, in France, book by the hour: one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.
Send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.

Airport Transfers in Saarbrucken
Saarbrücken Airport is 14 km from the city, 30–40 minutes by car. Two airports across the border are also within reach: Metz-Nancy-Lorraine in France is 84 km, 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, and Luxembourg Airport is 108 km, 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Luxembourg Airport has no rail link from Germany, which makes the road the direct way. A transfer to Luxembourg or Metz-Nancy crosses an international border, but it is still one booking with one car from the hotel to the terminal.
Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. When you leave Saarbrücken by air, plan around the drive time rather than the distance: 30–40 minutes to the local airport, and 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes to Luxembourg on a normal day. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Cross-Border Travel from Saarbrucken
France begins at the edge of the city. Metz is 69 km away, 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes, and Strasbourg 120 km, 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours. Luxembourg is 100 km to the north-west, 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes. Each of these trips is booked as one journey, with the same chauffeur and car from start to finish, with no change of vehicle at the border.
Within Germany, Kaiserslautern is 70 km east, 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes, and its Fritz-Walter-Stadion holds 49,327 for league matches; Trier is 96 km, 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes; Heidelberg is 155 km, 1 hour 50 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes; and Frankfurt is 183 km, 2 hours 5 minutes to 2 hours 50 minutes.
Germany has notified the European Commission of temporary checks at its internal land borders, and France has notified the European Commission of checks at its internal borders, so a trip to Metz or Strasbourg can meet a check in either direction. Carry the travel documents your nationality and itinerary require.

Groups & Congress Travel in Saarbrucken
In January the city hosts the Max Ophüls Prize Film Festival, a festival for young filmmakers from the German-speaking countries, whose last edition drew more than 36,000 visitors. The 2027 festival runs from 25 to 31 January. Congresses at the Congresshalle, a short walk from the station, add their own dates through the year.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If delegates fly in on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own, from Saarbrücken, Luxembourg or Metz-Nancy. For a party moving between hotel, hall and evening venue together, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load.
Book early for the festival week in late January. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early in that week. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
