Getting Around Osnabruck
Osnabrück is the fourth-largest city in Lower Saxony, with about 166,000 residents, and it calls itself the Peace City: the Peace of Westphalia of 1648 was negotiated here and in Münster. The envoys met in the Friedenssaal of the town hall.
The Hauptbahnhof is unusual. Built in 1895 as a tower station on two levels, it is the only one of its kind still working in Lower Saxony: the line from Hamburg and Bremen to the Ruhr runs on the upper level, and the line from Amsterdam to Hanover and Berlin on the lower one. InterCity trains to Berlin and Amsterdam call here. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
A business trip here may lead to companies such as KME, Hellmann, Coppenrath & Wiese or the Volkswagen plant, and around 28,000 students study at the university and the university of applied sciences. For a day split between two company sites and a meeting in the old town, booked by the hour, one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.
Send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.

Airport Transfers in Osnabruck
Münster/Osnabrück Airport is the nearest: 33 km, 40–55 minutes via the A30 and A1. It has two interconnected terminals, and Lufthansa flies from there to Munich. Paderborn Lippstadt is 103 km and Dortmund Airport 108 km, both 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes; Hannover Airport is 143 km, 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes. The right one depends on your airline and route.
The airports cover different routes, so a guest may land at Dortmund and leave from Hanover. Each direction is then a separate transfer with its own confirmation.
Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Osnabruck, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: 40–55 minutes to Münster/Osnabrück on a normal day, longer when the A1 is congested. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Cross-Border Travel from Osnabruck
Osnabrück lies where the A1 from Bremen to the Ruhr meets the A30 to the Netherlands. Münster and Bielefeld are each 57 km away, 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes. Bremen is 121 km north, 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours, and Hamburg 232 km, 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours 25 minutes.
South of the city, the A1 runs through the Ruhr towards the Rhine: Dortmund is 120 km, 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours, Essen 136 km, 1 hour 35 minutes to 2 hours 10 minutes, Düsseldorf 175 km, 2 hours to 2 hours 40 minutes, and Cologne 201 km, 2 hours 15 minutes to 3 hours.
Amsterdam is 241 km west along the A30, 2 hours 35 minutes to 3 hours 30 minutes. A client meeting in Amsterdam or a departure from Schiphol counts as one journey, with the same chauffeur and car from start to finish, with no change of vehicle at the border.
Germany has notified the European Commission of temporary checks at its internal land borders, the Dutch border among them, and on the return leg a check can cost time. Carry the travel documents your nationality and itinerary require.

Groups & Event Travel in Osnabruck
Spring brings the Maiwoche, the city's festival held every May in the old town. School classes, peace-education groups and foreign delegations visit the Friedenssaal in the town hall through the year, and at the start of each semester families bring students and their belongings to the city.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If the group comes in on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own, whichever of the three airports it uses. For a delegation touring the town hall and the old town together, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load.
For the Maiwoche and the semester start, book in good time. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early in those weeks. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
