Getting Around Lubeck
Lübeck's medieval old town stands on an island ringed by water, and UNESCO inscribed it on the World Heritage List in 1987. The Holstentor gate, built between 1464 and 1478, marks the way in from the west, and church spires give the city its old name, the City of Seven Towers. Hotels, offices and museums are packed close together on the island, so the exact address matters.
Lübeck Hauptbahnhof is the busiest station in Schleswig-Holstein, with about 31,000 passengers a day, and it lies just west of the old town. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
Travemünde, the city's seaside district and ferry port on the Baltic, is 23 km away, 35–45 minutes. Hamburg is 66 km to the south-west, 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes. For a day split between meetings on the island and a visit to the coast, with the hours booked ahead, one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve. Send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.

Airport Transfers in Lubeck
Lübeck Airport is only 10 km from the city, 20–25 minutes by car, but its schedule is small: in 2026 Ryanair flies from there to London Stansted, Palma de Mallorca and Málaga, and there are domestic flights to Munich. Hamburg Airport, 71 km south-west, is reached in 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes and has a far wider choice. Rostock–Laage is 142 km east, 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes. At Hamburg Airport, the two terminals T1 and T2 are linked by the Airport Plaza. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. When you leave Lübeck for a flight, plan by the length of the drive rather than the distance: 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes to Hamburg Airport on an easy day, longer when traffic around Hamburg is heavy. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Cross-Border Travel from Lubeck
From the Skandinavienkai in Travemünde, ferries cross the Baltic: TT-Line sails to Trelleborg and Finnlines to Malmö in Sweden, Finnlines also to Helsinki, and Stena Line to Liepāja in Latvia. The drive to the ferry, from Hamburg Airport or your hotel, is booked as one transfer; give the operator and departure time with the booking.
On land, Kiel is 79 km away, 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, and Schwerin 82 km, 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes. Warnemünde, Rostock's Baltic port, is 132 km east, 1 hour 35 minutes to 2 hours 10 minutes, and Bremen 180 km, 2 hours to 2 hours 40 minutes. Berlin is 291 km, 3 hours 5 minutes to 4 hours 10 minutes. If a road trip continues abroad, it is booked as one journey with the same chauffeur and car from start to finish, with no change of vehicle at the border.
Sweden has notified the European Commission of checks at its internal borders, prolonged until 11 May 2027, so expect them on arrival in Trelleborg or Malmö. Carry the travel documents your nationality and itinerary require.

Groups & Event Travel in Lubeck
In the weeks before Christmas, Lübeck's markets fill the streets of the old-town island. Ferry passengers are another kind of group: a coach party bound for Sweden or Finland has to be at the Skandinavienkai in Travemünde well before sailing. In June, a sailing team at the Kieler Woche on the Kiel Fjord, 79 km away, may choose to stay in Lübeck.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If members of the party fly in on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. For a group that sails together, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load.
Reserve early for December weekends and for summer sailings. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early in those periods. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
