Getting Around Hagen
Hagen sits at the south-eastern edge of the Ruhr, where the Lenne and the Volme flow into the Ruhr river. The city has about 198,000 residents and is a road junction: the A1, A45 and A46 all pass here, so Dortmund is 26 km away, 40–55 minutes, and Wuppertal 30 km, 35–45 minutes.
Hagen is also the home of the FernUniversität, the only state-funded distance-learning university in Germany. Its students study from home, so when they do come to Hagen, the visit is often short and built around one exam or seminar.
Hagen Hauptbahnhof has ICE and regional services, and the Hagen-Vorhalle marshalling yard is one of the largest in the country. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
For a day split between an exam on campus, lunch in the centre and a meeting in Wuppertal, booked by the hour, one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve. Send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.

Airport Transfers in Hagen
The closest airport is Dortmund, 31 km to the north-east, 35–45 minutes by car over the A45 and A1. Düsseldorf Airport, with more long-haul routes, is 73 km away, 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes. Cologne Bonn Airport is almost as far: 83 km south along the A1 and A3, 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes. Dortmund Airport has a single passenger terminal, Düsseldorf one terminal with piers A, B and C, and Cologne Bonn two terminals and its own ICE station. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Hagen, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: 35–45 minutes to Dortmund and an hour or more to Düsseldorf or Cologne Bonn, with more on weekday mornings when the A1 is busy. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Cross-Border Travel from Hagen
The A1 runs from Hagen straight to Cologne, 79 km away, 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes. Düsseldorf is 63 km, 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes, and Bochum 39 km, 40–55 minutes. A meeting in either city fits into one morning, and the car brings you back for the afternoon without a change of trains. The A45 leads south to Frankfurt, 204 km, 2 hours 15 minutes to 3 hours, and Hanover is 225 km away, 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours 25 minutes.
Maastricht, in the far south of the Netherlands, is 173 km away, 2 hours to 2 hours 40 minutes, Liège in Belgium 191 km, 2 hours 10 minutes to 2 hours 55 minutes, and Brussels 261 km, 2 hours 50 minutes to 3 hours 50 minutes. Booking a cross-border ride works the same way, with the same chauffeur and car from start to finish, with no change of vehicle at the border.
Germany has notified the European Commission of temporary checks at its internal land borders; on the return leg you may meet a checkpoint. Carry the travel documents your nationality and itinerary require.

Groups & Event Travel in Hagen
Hagen's LWL open-air museum shows historic workshops and crafts in working order. In 2026 the museum holds a Romantic Christmas market from 27 to 29 November, and the town's own Christmas market on the Friedrich-Ebert-Platz runs until 30 December. For a school class, a club or a company outing, the visit means one shared ride out and one back. A seminar weekend at the FernUniversität can bring a whole study group to town at once.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If guests come on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. For a group that travels together, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load.
Book early for exam periods and for trade fair weeks in Dortmund and Düsseldorf. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early in those weeks. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
