Getting Around Graz
Graz has a UNESCO-listed old town and a working city that stretches south of it. The Altstadt, with the Herrengasse and the Hauptplatz at its heart, holds the hotels and the regional government offices. South of it are the Messe and the Stadthalle in Jakomini, where the Messecongress takes up to 3,000 delegates, and further out the plants of one of Europe's largest automotive clusters: Magna Steyr at Thondorf, and AVL, Styria's largest private employer, headquartered in the city. A business visit often combines the old town with an appointment at one of these, and they are some distance apart.
Graz Hauptbahnhof is west of the centre, with Railjets to Vienna roughly every half hour, direct EuroCity trains to Ljubljana and Zagreb, and the Transalpin to Zurich. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
From there a working day runs along the same axis, between the Altstadt and Thondorf, the Messe or a supplier in Puntigam. Booked by the hour, one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve, so the south of the city stops being a series of separate bookings.
The Herrengasse and the Hauptplatz are pedestrian, and trams run through them. Send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.

Airport Transfers in Graz
Graz Airport is 10 km south of the centre at Thalerhof, and for flights via the Frankfurt and Munich hubs it is where you start. Austrian Airlines ends its Graz–Vienna service when the winter timetable starts on 25 October 2026; from then on Vienna Airport is reached from Graz by road, about 205 km via the A2, or by Railjet from Graz Hauptbahnhof.
Vienna Airport from Graz is a journey of its own: booked from your hotel or office to the terminal, in one arrangement. Ljubljana, about 200 km south on the A9, is the third option when its schedule fits.
Book with your flight number. At Graz Airport your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For Vienna or Ljubljana, the useful thing to know is the length of the drive, not when to leave: about two and a half hours via the A2, around two and a half to Ljubljana. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Multi-City Travel from Graz
Inside Austria the two main runs from Graz are Klagenfurt, about 135 km by road over the Pack, and Vienna, about 200 km via the A2. A working trip that starts in Graz and carries on to either is booked as one journey, with the address at the far end and the meeting time there as the fixed points.
Across the border to the south, Maribor is about 70 km down the A9, Ljubljana about 195 km, Zagreb about 185 km by the A9 and the Slovenian motorways. A day that takes in a supplier in Maribor and a dinner back in the Herrengasse is an ordinary booking: the same chauffeur drives there and back, and you stay in the same car at the border.
Slovenia and Croatia are both in the Schengen area, but Austria has kept checks at the Slovenian border for years, renewed a few months at a time, and they can add time at Spielfeld. Carry the travel documents your nationality and itinerary require.

Groups & Congress Travel in Graz
Conferences in Graz are largely medical, scientific and technical, and Messe Congress Graz is busiest in spring and autumn, when, for example, a specialist society brings a few hundred delegates to Jakomini for three days. The organiser usually sits somewhere else and needs three things from Graz: arrivals collected from the airport or the Hauptbahnhof, the group moved between hotels in the Altstadt and the Messe, and departure transfers.
All of it can be set up in one account, with each journey confirmed on its own: the keynote speaker from Graz Airport, the delegation from the Railjet, transfers to a sponsor dinner in the Herrengasse. Where a group moves together, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats, so a plant visit to Thondorf or Puntigam is matched to the number of people and their luggage.
Book early for the spring and autumn congress weeks and for Advent, when the old town fills from late November to Christmas Eve. Local vehicles and drivers are committed well ahead of those dates. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
