Getting Around Positano
During your stay in Positano, you can plan an evening in Amalfi, 16 km away, Sorrento, 17 km, or Ravello, 23 km. Booked by the hour, one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.
The SS163, the Amalfi Coast road, forms part of these routes. It is a narrow, winding coastal road with one lane in each direction, and journey times vary with traffic.
Positano has no railway. Guests arriving by train can come in at Sorrento, the last stop of the Circumvesuviana line from Naples, and continue by road. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
Send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.

Airport Transfers to Positano
From Naples Airport it is 62 km to Positano, about 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes by car. The route runs on the SS145 and the A3, and the last stretch follows the SS163, the Amalfi Coast road. Salerno Costa d'Amalfi Airport is 59 km away, on the A2 and then the same coast road from the other side, about 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes. Which of the two you land at depends on your airline and route; the car is booked to that airport.
On the coast road, journey times vary with traffic, and in peak season extra restrictions can apply on some days.
For arrivals, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Positano, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: about 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes to Naples Airport, 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes to Salerno, longer on busy days on the coast. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Multi-City Travel from Positano
Positano has no railway, so the road is how the trip continues. Naples is 60 km away and Rome 271 km, by the A3 and the A1. When the holiday ends with a few days in Rome, one car carries you and the luggage from the Positano hotel to the Rome one. For a flight home out of Fiumicino, 292 km away, it can drive you from the hotel directly to the terminal.
Allow about 3 hours 30 minutes to 4 hours 45 minutes to Rome or to Fiumicino, and 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes to Naples. Journey times vary with traffic and weather.
The last nights can also be spent in Naples, with Capodichino 7 km from the centre for the flight out: the car moves you and your luggage from the Positano hotel to the one in the city.
Pompeii is 37 km away by the SS163 and the SS145, about 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes each way. Book a day there as a Round-Trip, and the drive back to Positano is already set when you reserve.

Groups, Luggage & Coast Road Travel in Positano
Luggage, not headcount, decides the vehicle: tell us what you are bringing and the vehicle is matched to the load. A Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats. If the group arrives on different flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own.
On the SS163, vehicles over 10.36 m long are not allowed, so where a coach can stop is decided by the road rather than by the vehicle. Give the address at booking; support then tells you the closest spot where a coach is allowed to stop.
Book early, because local vehicles and drivers are booked up early. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
