Getting Around Amalfi
Amalfi's historic centre is a ZTL, and the streets around Piazza Duomo form a pedestrian area. Piazza Flavio Gioia, at the edge of the centre, has the parking area for cars and the space where bus passengers get on and off.
The closest mainline station is Salerno, 26 km east along the coast road. Frecciarossa and Italo trains call there from Rome and Naples, and Italo lists about 1 hour 40 minutes from Rome. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
Ravello sits 8 km above Amalfi and Positano 19 km to the west, so both fit an evening out from your hotel. Booked by the hour, one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.
For a hotel in the pedestrian streets, put the full address in the booking; we check it and let you know how near the hotel a car can stop.

Airport Transfers to Amalfi
For Amalfi, Salerno Costa d'Amalfi Airport is the closer of the two: 44 km on the A2 and then the SS163 from the Salerno side, about 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes. Naples Airport is 67 km away, about 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes, with the route over the Agerola road (SR366) and the A3. Your ticket decides between them; the car is booked to the airport printed on it. Rome Fiumicino, 301 km, is the long option.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather, and the last part of either route is a winding coastal or mountain road.
For arrivals, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Amalfi, plan around the length of the drive rather than the clock: Salerno airport is 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes away and Naples Airport 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes, and heavy traffic adds to both. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Multi-City Travel from Amalfi
There is no train from Amalfi itself; Salerno station, 26 km away, is where the rail network starts. If the next part of the trip is a stay in Sorrento, 32 km along the coast, or in Naples, 63 km, a single booking covers the move from one hotel to the other.
Rome is 280 km away by the A30 and the A1. Ending the holiday in Rome, you travel with the luggage in one car from Amalfi to your Rome hotel, or to Fiumicino, 301 km, for the flight out.
Plan on 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes to Naples, 3 hours 20 minutes to 4 hours 30 minutes to Rome and 3 hours 25 minutes to 4 hours 35 minutes to Fiumicino.
Past Salerno to the south, Paestum is 73 km on the SS163, the A2 and the SS18, about 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes each way. A day there works as a Round-Trip booking that brings you back to Amalfi, with the return time set when you book.

Groups, Luggage & Coast Road Travel in Amalfi
Before a group transfer to Amalfi, send the number of guests and bags, and the vehicle is matched to the load. A Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats. When guests come in on different flights, or some by train to Salerno, every arrival gets a transfer of its own.
The SS163 is closed to vehicles over 10.36 m long, and extra traffic rules can apply on some days in high season. In Amalfi, bus passengers get on and off at Piazza Flavio Gioia, where each set-down is limited to five minutes. Put the hotel address in the booking; we check it and let you know how near the hotel a coach can stop.
Book a group transfer as soon as the programme is final; in high season the vehicles and drivers on the coast fill up early. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
