Airport Transfers from Naples International Airport (NAP) to Amalfi

One-Way Transfer
A one-way transfer covers one journey between two addresses: Naples Airport to a hotel near Piazza Duomo, the terminal to a villa in Ravello above the town, or your Amalfi hotel back to Capodichino at the end of the stay. For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. For a departure, the pickup time you choose is confirmed with the reservation.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: Naples Airport to Amalfi on the day you arrive, and Amalfi back to Naples Airport on the day you fly home. Some Amalfi guests fly in to one airport and out of the other, since Salerno is also close; in that case book two one-way transfers, one for each airport. You choose both pickup times, and your confirmation shows them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for a set number of hours. When you book, you set the start at NAP, the final address and the hours you need, and you add the day's plan to the reservation so the chauffeur has it before your flight lands. It suits an arrival day with appointments, not a straight run to one hotel.

Naples Airport to Amalfi: Route and Drive Time

Amalfi is 67 km from Naples Airport. Unlike the drive to Sorrento or Positano, this route does not run along the peninsula towards Sorrento. After the A3 south along the bay, the car turns inland and crosses the Lattari mountains on the SR366 through Agerola, then comes down to the coast at Amalfi. The drive usually takes 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes.

The mountain road is the slow part: steep, with many bends, and it sets the time more than the motorway does. The other way in is longer: the motorway as far as Vietri sul Mare, then west on the SS163 coast road through Maiori and Minori.

Journey times vary with traffic and weather. Next to the flight number, write the hotel and its street; for a hotel outside the town on the coast road, name the nearest village as well.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Naples Airport

Naples Airport has a single terminal, and all arriving passengers leave the baggage hall by the same exit. That holds for every airline, so there is no terminal to choose when you book.

For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules. A long-haul arrival that lands mid-afternoon still reaches Amalfi before the evening; one that lands late puts the mountain road after dark, something to weigh when you choose your flight.

Runway reconstruction closes Capodichino to all flights from 1 to 30 November 2026. For Amalfi the answer in that month is simple: Salerno Costa d'Amalfi, where many of the diverted flights go, is the nearer airport to the town in any case.

Arriving at Your Hotel in Amalfi

In Amalfi the old centre is a limited-traffic zone (ZTL), with a pedestrian area in the streets around Piazza Duomo. Piazza Flavio Gioia, on the waterfront at the edge of the centre, holds the car park and the place where bus passengers get on and off, and from there the hotels in the centre are a short walk away.

Several hotels stand outside the town, on the SS163 towards Positano or towards Atrani and Minori, and for those, send the address with the booking and we will tell you the nearest point on the coast road. Ravello, 8 km above Amalfi, is reached by its own road up from the coast.

Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. For a hotel in the pedestrian streets, say how many cases you have, so the drop-off point is chosen with the walk in mind.

From Amalfi Back to Naples Airport

Leaving Amalfi, the useful thing to know is how long the road takes, not when to leave: 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes to Naples Airport, longer in heavy traffic. The pickup time you choose is confirmed with the reservation.

The return starts with the climb over Agerola, so the first half-hour covers few kilometres; from Castellammare the A3 runs quickly to the airport. If your flight leaves from Salerno Costa d'Amalfi instead, the drive is 44 km along the coast to the east, 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes.

A holiday that ends in Naples rather than at the airport works in the same way, with your Naples hotel, 63 km from Amalfi, as the drop-off. Salerno station, 26 km away, has Frecciarossa and Italo trains for the journey north.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your airport transfer with Bookinglane.

How long is the transfer from Naples Airport to Amalfi?

Amalfi is 67 km from Capodichino. The route runs on the A3 and then over the mountains on the SR366 through Agerola, and the drive usually takes 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes.

Is Naples or Salerno Airport better for Amalfi?

Salerno Costa d'Amalfi is nearer: 44 km, 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes. Naples is 67 km, 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes, but has many more flights. The car is booked from whichever airport you land at; mixing the two is fine as two one-way transfers.

Where does the car stop in Amalfi?

The historic centre is a ZTL with a pedestrian area around Piazza Duomo. Cars and buses use Piazza Flavio Gioia on the waterfront. Send your hotel's address with the booking, and we confirm whether the car can reach the entrance or where the nearest drop-off point is.

Naples Airport is closed in November 2026. How do I get to Amalfi?

Through Salerno Costa d'Amalfi, where many of the diverted flights go from 1 to 30 November 2026. It is 44 km from Amalfi, 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes; other flights move to Rome. Book from the airport your ticket shows.

Does the transfer from Naples to Amalfi pass through Positano?

No. The usual route leaves the A3 and crosses the mountains through Agerola, reaching the coast at Amalfi. Positano is 19 km further west along the coast road.

Can a large coach reach Amalfi?

No. Vehicles over 10.36 m long may not use the SS163, and at Piazza Flavio Gioia each set-down is limited to five minutes. Groups travel in Sprinter vans of up to 12 passengers with luggage or in a coach short enough for the road.
