Getting Around Manchester
Manchester's business life is split between the city centre and Salford Quays. In the centre, Manchester Central, a convention complex built inside a former railway station, has more than 23,000 m² of event space. MediaCityUK, home to large BBC and ITV bases, stands on the Quays in Salford, 3 miles from the centre and 20–30 minutes by car.
The city also has two of the UK's largest indoor arenas. Co-op Live, opened in May 2024 next to the Etihad Stadium, holds up to 23,500 people, and the AO Arena sits beside Victoria station. On a concert night the roads around the venue fill quickly, so for the ride home after a show, send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.
Manchester Piccadilly is the main station for trains from London and the rest of the country. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival. Greater Manchester has no charging Clean Air Zone. For a day split between the centre and MediaCityUK, booked by the hour, one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Airport Transfers in Manchester
Manchester Airport is 9 miles south of the city centre, 30–40 minutes by car. It handled 32.07 million passengers in 2025, more than any UK airport outside London, and now works with two terminals: Terminal 1 closed in early 2026, so flights use Terminal 2 or Terminal 3. Give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there.
Two more airports are within reach. Liverpool John Lennon Airport is 33 miles west, 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, and Leeds Bradford Airport 47 miles north-east across the Pennines, 1 hour 35 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Manchester, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: from the centre it is a short run on an ordinary day, longer when the M56 and the ring road are busy. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Day-Trip Travel from Manchester
Manchester sits between some of England's favourite landscapes. The Peak District starts just beyond Greater Manchester to the south-east; Bakewell, in its centre, is 38 miles away, 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours 5 minutes. The Lake District, a national park and UNESCO World Heritage Site, is further north: Windermere is 83 miles, 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes.
City trips work just as well. Liverpool is 34 miles west, 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes. York, with its minster and medieval walls, is 71 miles across the Pennines, 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours 10 minutes, and Chester, known for its Roman walls and the Rows, is 44 miles, 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes.
Shakespeare's Stratford-upon-Avon makes a full day out: 120 miles south, 2 hours 35 minutes to 3 hours 20 minutes. Travelling by car, your bags stay in one vehicle from the hotel door onwards, and a booking by the hour keeps the same car for a return on the same day.

Groups & Congress Travel in Manchester
Congresses and big events shape Manchester's calendar. Manchester Central holds medical and technology conferences through the year, and in November 2027 it is due to host the G20 leaders' summit, which will bring delegations, staff and press to the city. Concert tours at Co-op Live and the AO Arena add their own peaks, with crews and guests arriving on the day of the show.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If a delegation lands on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. For a group moving together, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load, from conference boxes to instrument cases.
The Christmas Markets fill the city centre from early November to late December. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early for those weeks and for major event dates. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
