Getting Around Hilden
Hilden is a town of about 55,000 people between Düsseldorf and Solingen, and its location is defined by motorways: the A3, A46 and A59 all have junctions on the town's edge. Düsseldorf is 17 km away, 30–40 minutes; Solingen 14 km; Leverkusen 25 km. The oldest part of town lies around the Reformationskirche and the market, and the Wilhelm-Fabry-Museum opened in 1989.
The biotech company QIAGEN has its operational headquarters and European centre in Hilden, which can bring scientists, auditors and customers to town throughout the year.
Hilden has two S-Bahn stations on the S1, Hilden and Hilden Süd, and the RE 47 calls here too; Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof is 14 minutes away by S-Bahn and Solingen Hauptbahnhof seven. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
The town centre is built around the Mittelstraße, a pedestrian zone with more than 100 shops, and most of them can only be reached from the street through it. If your hotel or appointment is there, send the full address with the booking and we will tell you how close the car can go.

Airport Transfers in Hilden
Hilden lies between two airports. Düsseldorf Airport is 30 km by road, 35–45 minutes; a SkyTrain ride of roughly 7 minutes links its eastern long-distance station with the terminals. Cologne Bonn Airport is 45 km, 45 minutes to 1 hour, so Cologne Bonn is a real alternative for many flights. Dortmund Airport, 76 km to the north-east, is 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes away. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Because both main airports are reached largely over the A3, the busy section near the Hilden and Leverkusen junctions decides how long the trip takes. Journey times vary with traffic and weather.
Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Hilden, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: 35–45 minutes to Düsseldorf and 45 minutes to 1 hour to Cologne Bonn on a normal day. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Cross-Border Travel from Hilden
From the A3 and A46 the long routes open in every direction. Frankfurt is 218 km south, 2 hours 25 minutes to 3 hours 15 minutes; Messe Frankfurt has 400,237 m² of hall space and more than 90 congress and conference rooms, and the Frankfurt Book Fair is held there from 6 to 10 October 2027. The European Central Bank has its headquarters in the Ostend. Maastricht is 127 km west, 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours; the treaty creating the EU was signed there in 1992, and Maastricht University was founded in 1976. Brussels, home of the EU institutions, is 215 km, 2 hours 20 minutes to 3 hours 10 minutes.
A business trip to Brussels or a supplier in Maastricht is booked like any other transfer, with the same chauffeur and car from start to finish, with no change of vehicle at the border.
Germany has notified the European Commission of temporary checks at its internal land borders. On the return from the Netherlands or Belgium a check is possible. Carry the travel documents your nationality and itinerary require.

Groups & Congress Travel in Hilden
For many fair visitors Hilden is a base outside Düsseldorf: the Messe Düsseldorf is 23 km away, 35–45 minutes by car on the A46. During MEDICA in November, boot in January or ProWein in March, a stand team staying in Hilden needs a run to the halls each morning and back each evening. In town, the Stadthalle in the Stadtpark, open since 1978, is the venue for larger events.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If colleagues arrive on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own, whichever airport they use. When the whole team moves at once, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load.
Book the fair weeks as soon as the stand is confirmed. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early in those weeks. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
