Getting Around Paddington
Paddington is a district of the City of Westminster, on the north side of Hyde Park. Its centre is the railway station: a main-line terminus for Great Western Railway trains from the west of England, a station on the Elizabeth line and the London end of the Heathrow Express. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
Beside the station, Paddington Basin is an office and residential quarter built around the canal basin, and St Mary's Hospital stands on the other side of the tracks. A morning can start with a meeting by the water and end with a visit to a patient across the road.
Paddington lies west of Edgware Road, the boundary of the Congestion Charge zone, so the district itself is outside it, while Mayfair and the West End to the east are inside. For a flat in a garden square or an office at the Basin, send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop. If your day moves between the station, the hospital and meetings in the West End, booked by the hour, one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Airport Transfers in Paddington
Heathrow is 16 miles west of Paddington, 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes by car. London City Airport is 11 miles east, in the Royal Docks:, 1 hour to 1 hour 25 minutes, since the drive crosses the whole of central London. Luton Airport is 32 miles north, 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes. Gatwick is 42 miles, 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours 20 minutes, and Stansted Airport 43 miles, 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours 20 minutes. The right one depends on your airline and route.
The Heathrow Express leaves from Paddington every 15 minutes, but since 25 June 2026 the airport's Terminals 2 and 3 station has been closed, so rail passengers for those terminals change on the way. With heavy cases or a family, a car from your address to the terminal avoids the change. Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks.
Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Paddington, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: the Westway and the roads out to the M4 slow down in the weekday rush hours. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Day-Trip Travel from Paddington
Two neighbours are a short ride away. Notting Hill, with Portobello Road Market, is 2 miles west, 15–20 minutes, and Kensington, with the South Kensington museums and Kensington Palace, is 2 miles, 15–20 minutes.
The trains from Paddington head west, and so do the best day trips by road. Windsor, with its castle, is 22 miles, 1 hour to 1 hour 25 minutes. Oxford, the university city, is 57 miles, 1 hour 30 minutes to 1 hour 55 minutes. The Cotswolds, an area of villages and countryside protected as a National Landscape, start at Bourton-on-the-Water, 81 miles away, 2 hours 5 minutes to 2 hours 40 minutes.
A car reaches the villages that have no station and keeps your bags with you between them. Coming back to Paddington the same night? Then an hourly reservation lets one driver cover the outing and the return; with a one-way transfer, you reserve the drive home as another booking.

Groups & Event Travel in Paddington
Paddington is where groups from the west of England arrive by train, and where hotel guests set off for Heathrow. On the August bank holiday weekend, 29 and 30 August 2027, Notting Hill Carnival fills the streets to the west, with heavy road closures, so plan group movements around it.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If a delegation arrives on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. For a team moving from the station to a hotel, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load.
Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early on Carnival weekend and in the weeks before Christmas. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
