Getting Around Henley-on-Thames
Henley-on-Thames is a market town on the River Thames, in the South Oxfordshire district of Oxfordshire. Henley Bridge, a five-arched bridge of 1786 listed Grade I, brings the road into the centre, and Leander Club, one of the world's best-known rowing clubs, stands beside it. Reading is 8 miles away, 30–40 minutes by car, and the M4 and the M40 are each about seven miles from the town.
Henley-on-Thames station is the terminus of a short branch from Twyford, where you change for main-line trains to Reading and London Paddington. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival. If you are staying in a house on a lane by the river, send the full address with the booking and we will tell you how close the car can go.
A day with a morning at the river, lunch in town and an evening back in Oxford can be booked by the hour: one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve.

Airport Transfers to Henley-on-Thames
Heathrow is the airport for Henley-on-Thames: 24 miles east, 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes by car. It handled 84.5 million passengers in 2025. Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks. Luton Airport is 51 miles, 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes. Southampton Airport is 54 miles, 1 hour 30 minutes to 1 hour 55 minutes, and Gatwick 62 miles, 1 hour 25 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes. The right one depends on your airline and route.
Book with your flight number. For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Henley-on-Thames, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: the first part of the route runs on local roads before you join the M4 or the M40, so allow for both stretches. Journey times vary with traffic and weather. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Groups & Event Travel in Henley-on-Thames
Henley Royal Regatta 2027 runs from Tuesday 29 June to Sunday 4 July on Henley Reach, the straight stretch of river just north of the town. The regatta has been "Royal" since 1851, when Prince Albert became its patron. Rowing crews with their supporters, corporate hosts with their guests and parties of friends all come to town that week.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation. If guests land on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. For a party that travels together, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats; the vehicle is matched to the load.
The Henley Festival is held each July; check its own site for the 2027 dates. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early for Regatta week. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
