Airport Transfers from London Luton Airport (LTN) to Windsor

One-Way Transfer
A one-way transfer covers one journey between two addresses: the terminal to a guest house in Eton, Luton Airport to a hotel under the castle walls, or a Legoland family hotel to Luton Airport for a morning flight home. After landing, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time; for a departure, you set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: Luton Airport to a family hotel close to Legoland at the start of the half-term break, and to the terminal again when the break is over. For May and June dates around the Horse Show and Royal Ascot, the ride out is worth fixing at once. With both directions in one booking, the return is secured from the start; you set both pick-up times yourself, and the confirmation lists them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for a set number of hours. When you book, you set the start at LTN, the final address and the hours you need, and you add the day's plan to the reservation so the chauffeur has it before your flight lands. It suits an arrival day with appointments, not a straight run to one hotel.

London Luton Airport to Windsor: Route and Drive Time

Windsor is in Berkshire, on the far side of London from Luton Airport, and the drive uses the motorways round the west of the capital instead of crossing it. The distance is 38 miles, normally 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes. The M4 passes north of the town at Junction 6, with the M25 just to its east.

The last part depends on the purpose of the trip. Legoland Windsor Resort sits on the edge of town, Eton lies across the Thames from the centre, and the hotels of the old town are gathered in the streets below the castle walls.

Journey times vary with traffic and weather. Because a long stretch of the drive is on the M25, the range is wider than on short airport runs.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at London Luton Airport

Luton Airport has one terminal, which keeps the meeting simple after a long flight: every arrival leaves the same building.

As soon as the wheels touch down, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules.

Rail is the slow option for Windsor. The DART and a train bring you to St Pancras, but Windsor's lines start from Paddington, with a change at Slough, or from Waterloo, so a family with cases would first have to cross London.

Arriving at Your Address in Windsor

Windsor Castle is still a working royal residence; visitors are usually admitted Thursday to Monday, and it may shut at short notice. Eton College is across the river, and families bound for Legoland have a short extra ride: the resort is about 4 miles from the castle.

If you stay in one of the narrow old streets under the castle, send the full address with the booking and we will tell you how close the car can go. For a visit to Eton College, name the building where you are expected.

With small children after a flight, a hotel near the resort can be the better first stop, and the castle can wait for a later day booked by the hour.

From Windsor Back to London Luton Airport

Plan the trip to the airport by its length: 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes in normal traffic, longer when the M25 is congested. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

There is no terminal to choose at Luton Airport, so give the flight time and the hotel name in the booking. Heathrow is the nearer airport to Windsor; make sure you do not set the time for the shorter Heathrow run by mistake.

If you fly during Horse Show week, 13–16 May 2027, or Royal Ascot week, 15–19 June 2027, add a margin to the pick-up time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your airport transfer with Bookinglane.

How far is Luton Airport from Windsor?

Windsor is 38 miles from the airport, normally 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, using the motorways west of London. Heathrow is nearer, so check which airport is on your ticket.

Our flight to Luton Airport is three hours late. What happens to the transfer to Windsor?

It follows the flight: the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time. If you end up on a different flight, give its number to support.

Is there a set meeting point at Luton Airport for booked cars?

All arrivals use the one terminal. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules.

Is Windsor Castle open every day?

No. The castle is a working royal residence and is generally open from Thursday to Monday; official events can close it at short notice, so look at the opening calendar before fixing the visit and the pick-up time.

Our riding team flies into Luton Airport for the Horse Show, with saddles and kit bags. What should we do?

Book one transfer for the team if you share a flight, and list every saddle and bag. Enter the number of bags in the booking form; for golf bags, bikes or other bulky items, tell support so the vehicle is matched to the load.

What do you need to know about Windsor in 2026–2027?

The Horse Show returns to the castle's private grounds on 13–16 May 2027, and Royal Ascot, a short drive away, runs on 15–19 June 2027. Visitors who do not need a visa for the UK, other than British and Irish citizens, must hold an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before they travel.
