Airport Transfers from London Heathrow Airport (LHR) to Woolwich

One-Way Transfer
A one-way transfer covers one journey between two addresses: Terminal 5 to a house on Woolwich Common, Terminal 3 to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for a family visit, or the Royal Arsenal to Terminal 2 for a morning departure. For an airport arrival, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time; when you fly out, you set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: Terminal 4 to a flat at the Royal Arsenal when you land, and back across London to Terminal 4 for the homeward flight, or Terminal 2 to lodgings near Woolwich Works for a run of performances and out again after the last night. With both directions in one booking, the return is secured from the start; you set both pick-up times yourself, and the confirmation lists them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for a set number of hours. When you book, you set the start at LHR, the final address and the hours you need, and you add the day's plan to the reservation so the chauffeur has it before your flight lands. It suits an arrival day with appointments, not a straight run to one hotel.

London Heathrow Airport to Woolwich: Route and Drive Time

Heathrow is on the western rim of London and Woolwich on the Thames in the south-east, so this transfer crosses most of the city. Woolwich is 27 miles away, normally 1 hour 35 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes, a long time for the distance because nearly all of it is urban driving through south London.

Where the ride ends shapes the final minutes. The Royal Arsenal, the old munitions works on the river, is now an estate of flats, shops and the Woolwich Works venue. Up the hill, the Royal Artillery Barracks look over Woolwich Common, and Queen Elizabeth Hospital stands on Stadium Road.

Journey times vary with traffic and weather. Give the terminal and the full address, and say whether you are going to the riverside or the hill.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at London Heathrow Airport

Heathrow runs four terminals, numbered 2 to 5. Air France, KLM and other SkyTeam carriers use Terminal 4, where the arrangements changed this summer: with the multi-storey gone since 23 June 2026, passengers there are collected from a dedicated zone beside the terminal. Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks.

Whichever terminal you use, give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there. While you are flying, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules.

Woolwich does have its own Elizabeth line station, opened in 2022, but the line's stop under Terminals 2 and 3 has been shut since 25 June 2026, which makes the train harder work with luggage.

Arriving at Your Address in Woolwich

On the Royal Arsenal estate, the old buildings are arranged around squares and riverside walks, and not every door can be reached by car. Send the full address with the booking and we will tell you how close the car can go.

Away from the river, the address is simpler: Woolwich Town Hall, the seat of the Royal Borough of Greenwich council, is in the town centre, and the houses around Woolwich Common are on ordinary residential roads. If you are visiting a patient at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, name the entrance or ward block you need.

Performers arriving for a show at Woolwich Works can be taken straight to the stage door, or to their lodgings first if the get-in is the next morning.

From Woolwich Back to London Heathrow Airport

The return is a cross-London drive, so plan by its length: 1 hour 35 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes, and more on weekday mornings. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

The terminals are far apart, so enter your departure terminal and flight number when you book.

One local date needs a margin. On 24 and 25 April 2027 the London Marathon, which starts in nearby Greenwich, closes roads in the area in the morning, so on those days choose an earlier pick-up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your airport transfer with Bookinglane.

What journey time should I expect between Heathrow and Woolwich?

By road, Woolwich is 27 miles, normally 1 hour 35 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes by car, because the route runs right across south London. Your terminal and the exact street complete the booking.

Can I book a car for a Heathrow landing well after midnight?

Yes. The chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time, whatever the hour. Book with your flight number, and if the airline changes it, update the booking.

Once I am through arrivals at Heathrow, where is the car?

Go by your confirmation. Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks. At Terminal 4 a separate area outside is used. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules.

Which Woolwich station is on the Elizabeth line?

Woolwich station, which opened in 2022 and is in Travelcard Zone 4. Woolwich Arsenal, a short walk away, has DLR and Southeastern trains instead. If you are meeting a train rather than a flight, add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.

We are a band of eight with instruments. Which vehicle fits us?

Eight musicians fit in a 12-seat Sprinter, but amplifiers and drum cases may need more room. Enter the number of bags in the booking form; for golf bags, bikes or other bulky items, tell support so the vehicle is matched to the load.

What do you need to know about London Heathrow Airport in 2026–2027?

Terminal 4 collections have moved to a dedicated area outside, following the multi-storey's closure on 23 June 2026. The London Marathon becomes a two-day event on 24 and 25 April 2027, starting in Greenwich, close to Woolwich.
