Airport Transfers from London Heathrow Airport (LHR) to Greenwich

One-Way Transfer
A one-way transfer covers one journey between two addresses: Terminal 5 to a flat near Greenwich Park, Terminal 3 to a hotel beside The O2, or the Old Royal Naval College to Terminal 2 after a graduation ceremony. On the inbound leg, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time; on the way to the airport, you set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: Terminal 3 to a conference hotel on the Greenwich Peninsula when you arrive, and back to Terminal 3 after the last session, or Terminal 2 to a riverside hotel near the Cutty Sark for a graduation weekend and out again on Monday. With both directions in one booking, the return is secured from the start; you set both pick-up times yourself, and the confirmation lists them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for a set number of hours. When you book, you set the start at LHR, the final address and the hours you need, and you add the day's plan to the reservation so the chauffeur has it before your flight lands. It suits an arrival day with appointments, not a straight run to one hotel.

London Heathrow Airport to Greenwich: Route and Drive Time

Greenwich faces the Thames from the south-east of London, and Heathrow sits on the far western side of the capital, so the transfer runs from one end of the city to the other. Greenwich is 24 miles away, normally 1 hour 25 minutes to 2 hours. The figure shows how much of the time goes on city streets rather than on open road.

Greenwich has two quite different ends. Along the river lies the World Heritage quarter: the Observatory on its hill, the clipper ship Cutty Sark, and the former Royal Navy college by the water. To the north, the Greenwich Peninsula is newer, with hotels, flats and The O2 arena next to North Greenwich station.

Journey times vary with traffic and weather. When you book, say whether you are heading for the riverside town or the Peninsula, and give the terminal.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at London Heathrow Airport

Heathrow, which handled a record 84.5 million passengers in 2025, works from four terminals: 2, 3, 4 and 5. Delegates on long-haul flights may land at Terminal 3, used by Emirates, Cathay Pacific, Qantas and American, or at Terminal 2, the Star Alliance terminal; give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there.

Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks. Whatever time you land, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules.

The Jubilee line reaches North Greenwich, but from Heathrow that means the Piccadilly line or a change of terminal first, as the Terminals 2 and 3 station has been closed since 25 June 2026.

Arriving at Your Address in Greenwich

The streets around Greenwich Park, the market and the Old Royal Naval College are narrow and busy with visitors, so for a hotel, a museum or a riverside flat, send the full address with the booking and we will tell you how close the car can go.

On the Peninsula, give the name of the hotel or apartment block as well as the street. Greenwich lies beyond the Congestion Charge zone.

Coming for a University of Greenwich degree ceremony in the old naval college, or for an evening at The O2? Then name the venue in the booking as well as your hotel.

From Greenwich Back to London Heathrow Airport

The drive out is long for its mileage: 1 hour 25 minutes to 2 hours in ordinary conditions, more on weekday mornings. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

The terminals are spread out; copy the one printed on your boarding pass into the booking, together with the flight number.

Greenwich has dates that need more time. Next spring's marathon begins here and lasts two days, 24–25 April 2027, closing roads each morning, and if you are staying on the Peninsula on a concert night, avoid a pick-up just as a show ends. On marathon mornings, choose an earlier time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your airport transfer with Bookinglane.

Heathrow to Greenwich by car: what journey time is normal?

Greenwich is 24 miles away, normally 1 hour 25 minutes to 2 hours by car, because the route crosses most of London. Give the terminal and your hotel or address in the booking.

What if my flight from Asia reaches Heathrow much later than planned?

The pick-up moves with it: the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time. Check that the booking holds your current flight number.

At which point of Heathrow do I meet the driver?

At your arrival terminal, in line with Heathrow's rules. Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules.

Does a car to Greenwich pay the Congestion Charge?

No, Greenwich is outside it; the charging zone ends well to the west of Greenwich, around Tower Bridge Road and New Kent Road. The Ultra Low Emission Zone covers every London borough around the clock. Crossing north by the Blackwall or Silvertown tunnel is charged between 06:00 and 22:00. The rules and current rates of each charge are published by the authority or airport that runs it.

We are 30 conference delegates arriving at Heathrow. How do we book?

Thirty people travelling together fit one coach, with luggage in the hold. Delegates on other flights each need a transfer of their own, and all bookings can sit in one account. Send support the hotel, the flight list and the number of bags.

What do you need to know about London Heathrow Airport in 2026–2027?

The rail platforms serving Terminals 2 and 3 have been out of use since 25 June 2026, and Terminal 4 passengers are collected from a dedicated zone outside since 23 June 2026. Locally, the river tunnel charging rules were revised on 21 September 2026, and the two-day marathon of 24–25 April 2027 sets off from Greenwich.
