One-Way Transfer
A one-way transfer covers one journey between two addresses: Terminal 3 to a flat off Dartmouth Road, Terminal 5 to the Horniman Museum with a school party, or a house on the hill to Terminal 2 for a lunchtime flight. Flying in, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time; for a departure, you set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: Terminal 4 to a house near the Horniman for a week with family, then the return ride on the last morning. In the first weeks of the Nature Gallery in February 2027 and over the school holidays, cars in the area go early. With both directions in one booking, the return is secured from the start; you set both pick-up times yourself, and the confirmation lists them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for a set number of hours. When you book, you set the start at LHR, the final address and the hours you need, and you add the day's plan to the reservation so the chauffeur has it before your flight lands. It suits an arrival day with appointments, not a straight run to one hotel.

London Heathrow Airport to Forest Hill: Route and Drive Time

Forest Hill stands on high ground in the London Borough of Lewisham, in the south-east of the city, while Heathrow lies beyond the western suburbs. The drive from the terminals to Forest Hill is 24 miles, normally 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes.

The final stretch usually comes along the South Circular, which passes the Horniman Museum as London Road. From there, many homes are on steep side roads climbing the hill, and the area around the station on Dartmouth Road forms the local centre.

Journey times vary with traffic and weather. For a house up the hill, include the house number and postcode as well as the street.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at London Heathrow Airport

Heathrow spreads its flights across Terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5. Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks. Terminal 4 is the exception for now. On 23 June 2026 its multi-storey shut for rebuilding, and Terminal 4 collections were moved to a separate spot by the building.

For your arrival, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules.

Terminal 4 is set apart on the southern side of the airport, so if your airline flies from there, give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there.

Arriving at Your Address in Forest Hill

On London Road, the South Circular, stands the district's main sight: the Horniman Museum and Gardens. Frederick Horniman, a Victorian tea merchant, gave the collection its start, and the building that houses it opened in 1901; inside are animals, objects from around the world and a large gallery of musical instruments, and outside the gardens give a wide view of London.

Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. For the museum, say whether you need the main entrance or the gardens; for a flat near Forest Hill station, the building name helps.

Planning to visit the Horniman on the day you land? Book the ride to your home or hotel for the bags, and a second short ride to London Road.

From Forest Hill Back to London Heathrow Airport

The return to Heathrow is normally 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes, and longer in the rush hours, when the South Circular, the first part of the route west, slows down. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Check your ticket for the Heathrow terminal and add it, so the car heads to the correct building.

The Horniman's rebuilt Nature Gallery opens on 5 February 2027. If your pick-up is next to the museum on an opening weekend, when more visitors may come to London Road, allow a little extra time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your airport transfer with Bookinglane.

How far is Forest Hill from Heathrow?

It is 24 miles by road from the Heathrow terminals to Forest Hill, normally 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes by car. The South Circular decides much of the time, so give your flight number and the full address.

I missed a connection and now reach Heathrow on a later flight. Is my car lost?

Change the flight number in the reservation to the new one. The chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time, so the car follows the new arrival rather than the old one.

I arrive at Terminal 4. Is the pick-up different there?

Yes. Since the Terminal 4 multi-storey shut in June 2026, passengers there are met in a dedicated zone next to the building. At every terminal, your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules.

Is the Horniman Museum in Forest Hill?

Yes. The Horniman Museum and Gardens is on London Road in Forest Hill, part of the South Circular (A205). The car can take you there directly from Heathrow or collect you at the museum for the drive back.

Can a school group with a teacher come straight from the airport to the museum?

Yes. Twelve people in all fit a Sprinter van; larger classes go by coach, with up to 56 seats. Give the number of pupils, adults and bags. If some of the group fly on another day, book their transfer separately.

What do you need to know about London Heathrow Airport in 2026–2027?

Redevelopment closed the Terminal 4 multi-storey from 23 June 2026, moving that terminal's collections to a separate outdoor area. In Forest Hill, the Horniman Museum's new Nature Gallery, with more than 2,300 objects including the famous walrus, opens to the public on 5 February 2027.
