Airport Transfers from London Heathrow Airport (LHR) to Farnborough

1-12 passengers For business
Trusted by professionals at
One-Way Transfer
A one-way transfer covers one journey between two addresses: Terminal 2 to an office near BAE Systems, Terminal 4 to a hangar at Farnborough Airport for an onward private flight, or a hotel in Aldershot to Terminal 5 for an evening departure. For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time; for a departure, you set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: Terminal 5 to a hotel by the M3 for three days of supplier meetings and back to Terminal 5 on the last evening, or Terminal 3 to an aerospace business park for a programme review and out again the next morning. In an Airshow year, cars around Rushmoor are reserved months ahead. With both directions in one booking, the return is secured from the start; you set both pick-up times yourself, and the confirmation lists them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for a set number of hours. When you book, you set the start at LHR, the final address and the hours you need, and you add the day's plan to the reservation so the chauffeur has it before your flight lands. It suits an arrival day with appointments, not a straight run to one hotel.

London Heathrow Airport to Farnborough: Route and Drive Time

Farnborough is a town in north-east Hampshire, south-west of the airport. The drive from the terminals to Farnborough is 25 miles, 45 minutes to 1 hour 5 minutes. Most of the way is motorway: the M25 south from the airport, then the M3, which runs along the northern edge of the town, with Junctions 4 and 4a.

The end of the ride depends on what brings you here. Beside the airfield is the headquarters of BAE Systems, aerospace firms sit on the business parks around it, and Farnborough (Main) station and the town centre lie to the east. Aldershot, the neighbouring town in the same borough of Rushmoor, is just to the south.

Journey times vary with traffic and weather. Since there is also a Farnborough in south-east London, put the full address with its Hampshire postcode in the booking, together with your terminal.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at London Heathrow Airport

Farnborough has its own airport, but it serves business jets: apart from BAE Systems' private shuttles there are no scheduled flights, so for an airline flight the nearest choice is Heathrow. Your flight lands at Terminal 2, 3, 4 or 5. Give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there. Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks.

During the flight, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules.

If you connect from an airline arrival at Heathrow to a private flight from Farnborough Airport, give the handling agent's address as the destination and leave time for the motorway.

Arriving at Your Address in Farnborough

Aviation defines the town. About 8% of Rushmoor's land is taken up by Farnborough Airport, which serves business and executive flights, and every second July the airfield hosts the Farnborough International Airshow. Offices, hotels and suppliers around it serve the aerospace and defence industry.

Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. For an aerospace business park, add the building and the company you are visiting; for a hangar or the airport terminal, the operator's name; for a hotel near the M3, its name and postcode.

If a colleague follows by rail, Farnborough (Main) is the station for trains from London Waterloo.

From Farnborough Back to London Heathrow Airport

The way back is a drive of 45 minutes to 1 hour 5 minutes. The M3 towards the M25 is the main route, and a single accident on it can badly delay an early run, so leave margin before a morning flight. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Take the terminal from your ticket. British Airways flies from Terminal 5 as a rule, the closest terminal to the M25; other airlines use Terminals 2, 3 and 4, and Heathrow is reviewing its allocations.

For a flight after a full day of meetings, give the address of the last meeting as the pick-up point, so the car starts from there.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your airport transfer with Bookinglane.

How far is Farnborough from Heathrow, and how long does it take?

Farnborough is 25 miles from the terminals, 45 minutes to 1 hour 5 minutes by car via the M25 and the M3. Give the Hampshire postcode and your terminal in the booking.

My long-haul flight into Heathrow is delayed and I have a meeting in Farnborough. What happens?

The pick-up moves with the flight: the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time. Give the meeting address as the destination in the booking.

After landing at Heathrow, where is the car?

At your arrival terminal. Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules.

Can I fly into Farnborough Airport instead of Heathrow?

Only on a business or private jet. Farnborough Airport handles business and executive aviation; apart from BAE Systems' own shuttles it has no scheduled flights, so anyone on a scheduled airline uses Heathrow or another airport and continues by road.

An Airshow stand team of 15 arrives with equipment. How do we travel?

Fifteen people and display cases are too many for one Sprinter van with 12 seats, so book a coach or two vehicles; the vehicle is matched to the load. Team members who land on other flights travel on their own transfers. Book early, as Airshow week fills the area.

What do you need to know about London Heathrow Airport in 2026–2027?

Two changes came in June 2026: Terminal 4's multi-storey shut on the 23rd, moving pick-ups there to a separate area, and Terminals 2 and 3 lost their rail station on the 25th. Heathrow then consults on its expansion from 27 October to 22 December 2026.
