Airport Transfers from London Heathrow Airport (LHR) to Clapham

1-12 passengers For business
Trusted by professionals at
One-Way Transfer
A one-way transfer covers one journey between two addresses: Terminal 2 to a house beside the Common, Terminal 3 to a flat on Clapham High Street, or a home near Clapham South to Terminal 4 for a morning flight to Paris. For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time; for a departure, you set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: Terminal 5 to your flat near Clapham Common station at the start of a visit, and the run back to Terminal 5 for the BA flight home. In Chelsea Flower Show week and around Royal Ascot, south-west London cars are reserved early. With both directions in one booking, the return is secured from the start; you set both pick-up times yourself, and the confirmation lists them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for a set number of hours. When you book, you set the start at LHR, the final address and the hours you need, and you add the day's plan to the reservation so the chauffeur has it before your flight lands. It suits an arrival day with appointments, not a straight run to one hotel.

London Heathrow Airport to Clapham: Route and Drive Time

Clapham lies east of the airport, south of the Thames. From the terminals the drive is 18 miles, normally 1 hour to 1 hour 25 minutes. The car leaves Heathrow on the M4 and then works across the south-western suburbs; for an address near the Common, the last stretch is the South Circular, which runs along its edge.

Where exactly you are going decides the final minutes. The Old Town, with its clock tower, sits on the north-east corner of the Common, Clapham High Street leads off towards Stockwell, and Clapham South station is at the far side, close to Balham. One name catches out visitors: Clapham Junction station is in Battersea, not in Clapham, so give a street address rather than the station.

Journey times vary with traffic and weather. On weekday mornings the roads around the Common are the slow part of the run.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at London Heathrow Airport

Heathrow's four terminals are spread over three sites: Terminals 2 and 3 share the central area, while Terminal 4 stands on the south side and Terminal 5 at the western end. Terminal 5 handles almost every British Airways route, so a Clapham resident coming home on BA usually lands there; give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there.

On the day you land, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules. Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks.

Terminal allocations may shift. More than 80 airlines are being consulted by Heathrow on a reshuffle, its first review since Terminal 2 opened in 2014, so check your ticket again shortly before the trip.

Arriving at Your Address in Clapham

Most of Clapham belongs to the London Borough of Lambeth, and its western streets are in Wandsworth. Homes range from flats above the shops on Clapham High Street to family houses on the roads that face the Common; Holy Trinity Church, on its north side, is a landmark the chauffeur will know.

Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. For a mansion block with several entrances, add the flat number and the door you use.

If you would rather go straight from the terminal to a dinner in the Old Town, put the restaurant as the destination instead of your home address.

From Clapham Back to London Heathrow Airport

Leave enough time for the drive itself, which takes 1 hour to 1 hour 25 minutes from your door on an ordinary day. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

At the airport, the drop-off depends on the airline. Virgin Atlantic and several long-haul carriers use Terminal 3, Air France, KLM and other SkyTeam members use Terminal 4, and BA departs from Terminal 5. Write the terminal into the booking.

The Common is also an event ground. Oktoberfest on the Common has its final 2026 sessions on 16, 17, 23 and 24 October, and a flight on any of those dates calls for an earlier start from home.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your airport transfer with Bookinglane.

Door to door, how long is the ride from Heathrow to Clapham?

Normally 1 hour to 1 hour 25 minutes for the 18 miles between the terminals and Clapham Common, depending on the time of day. Put your terminal and the street address in the booking.

What happens if I land close to midnight?

The chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time, so a late or delayed arrival simply moves the pick-up. Add your flight number when you book.

I fly British Airways into Terminal 5. Where is the pick-up?

Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules.

Is Clapham Junction in Clapham?

No. The station called Clapham Junction lies in Battersea, which belongs to Wandsworth, west of Clapham itself. The Clapham stations are Clapham North, Clapham Common and Clapham South on the Northern line, and Clapham High Street on the Overground.

We are six friends with ski bags. Which vehicle do we need?

Six people with skis or other bulky kit usually fit a van rather than a car. Enter the number of bags in the booking form; for golf bags, bikes or other bulky items, tell support so the vehicle is matched to the load.

What do you need to know about London Heathrow Airport in 2026–2027?

Since 22 June 2026, MPs have been examining the government's statement of policy for a bigger Heathrow; their scrutiny ends on 26 November 2026. The airport's own consultation, open to anyone, runs between 27 October and 22 December 2026. Neither changes how arrivals and departures work today.
