Airport Transfers from London City Airport (LCY) to Mayfair

One-Way Transfer
A one-way transfer covers one journey between two addresses: the terminal to a hotel on Park Lane, the airport to an office near Grosvenor Square, or a fashion house on Bond Street to London City at the end of a buying day. For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time; for a departure, you set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: from the Royal Docks to Claridge's on a Monday morning, and back to the dockside terminal after the last investor meeting on Thursday. In December, cars around Bond Street and Park Lane are reserved well ahead, so the return is easier to secure at the start. With both directions in one booking, the return is secured from the start; you set both pick-up times yourself, and the confirmation lists them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for a set number of hours. When you book, you set the start at LCY, the final address and the hours you need, and you add the day's plan to the reservation so the chauffeur has it before your flight lands. It suits an arrival day with appointments, not a straight run to one hotel.

London City Airport to Mayfair: Route and Drive Time

Mayfair, inside the City of Westminster, is framed by Park Lane on the west, Oxford Street on the north, Regent Street on the east and Piccadilly on the south; the airport lies due east of it. By road it is 10 miles, normally 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes, and the road passes the Square Mile on the way, so a landing in the morning or evening rush adds most to the time.

Which side of Mayfair you are heading for decides the approach. Park Lane hotels such as The Dorchester face Hyde Park on the western edge; Claridge's and Grosvenor Square are in the middle; Bond Street runs north towards Oxford Street; Piccadilly and Green Park mark the south. Journey times vary with traffic and weather.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at London City Airport

By the airport's own account the Square Mile is five miles away; Mayfair is roughly double that. For a fund manager flying in from Frankfurt or Zurich, that means meetings in the City or at Canary Wharf can be fitted in on the way west.

London City has one terminal. At London City Airport, pre-booked cars collect passengers from the pick-up area in the Short Stay car park. On arrival, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules. If the first stop is an office in the City, book that leg and a second one from the office to your Mayfair hotel.

Arriving at Your Address in Mayfair

An address here can be a name rather than a number: Claridge's, The Dorchester, a Bond Street fashion house or the office of an investment firm, as Mayfair is a centre for hedge funds and private equity.

The northern edge changes on 26 October 2026, when vehicles are kept off Oxford Street on the stretch that starts at Orchard Street and ends at Great Portland Street; the scheme is a trial, reviewed into spring 2027. If you are staying, shopping or working on that stretch or in a side street just off it, send the full address with the booking and we will tell you how close the car can go.

From Mayfair Back to London City Airport

Base the return on drive time, 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes, and keep in mind that the same route through the City is slowest at the end of the working day. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Park Lane and Hyde Park Corner, at the western side of the district, are busy in the evening peak, so a hotel there needs a slightly earlier start for an evening flight. Winter Wonderland, across Park Lane in Hyde Park, runs from 19 November 2026 to 3 January 2027 and brings extra visitors. For later departures, the airport expects its new Aspire lounge to be ready by early 2027.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your airport transfer with Bookinglane.

How many minutes does it take to reach Mayfair from London City Airport?

Mayfair is 10 miles by road, normally 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes. The route passes the City, so a landing in the rush hour sits at the top of that range.

My flight into London City now lands after dinner. Is the car still booked?

Yes. The chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time, and the car is ready for the time you really land. Leave the flight number in the booking.

Where does the Mayfair chauffeur meet me at London City?

At the car park beside the terminal. At London City Airport, pre-booked cars collect passengers from the pick-up area in the Short Stay car park. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules.

Does Mayfair fall within the Congestion Charge zone?

It does, every street of it: Park Lane, its western edge, is one of the boundary roads of the zone. The charge applies on weekdays from 07:00 to 18:00 and at weekends and on bank holidays from 12:00 to 18:00. The Ultra Low Emission Zone covers every London borough around the clock. The rules and current rates of each charge are published by the authority or airport that runs it.

Twenty guests are coming to a client dinner at a Park Lane hotel. How do we bring them from London City?

Book each flight as its own transfer and keep them in one account; when guests land together, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats. Give the hotel address early, as stopping points may be in side streets.

What do you need to know about London City Airport in 2026–2027?

An Aspire premium lounge is planned by early 2027, the airport's 40th year of flights. In Mayfair, from 26 October 2026 Oxford Street loses its traffic between its junctions with Orchard Street and Great Portland Street, as a trial running into spring 2027.
