Airport Transfers from or to Birmingham Airport (BHX)

1-12 passengers For business
Trusted by professionals at
One-Way Service
One-Way Service covers one journey between two addresses: BHX to a stand at the NEC, the terminal to an office in Birmingham's Colmore Business District, a house in Solihull to the airport for an early holiday flight. For an airport pick-up, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur; the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules. For the outbound trip, the time is yours to pick.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: from the terminal to a hotel near the ICC on Broad Street when you land, and back to BHX for the flight home, or from the airport to Stratford-upon-Avon for a theatre weekend and back again. Exhibition weeks at the NEC fill the local diary quickly. With both directions in one booking, the return is secured from the start; you set both pick-up times yourself, and the confirmation lists them.
Hourly Service
Some arrival days do not end at one address. With hourly service from BHX you choose at booking where the day starts, where it ends and how many hours you need, and the same chauffeur and vehicle remain with you for that whole period. Send the day's programme with the booking, so the chauffeur has it before you land. It suits a day built around appointments rather than a single destination.

Chauffeur Service at Birmingham Airport (BHX)

According to the CAA, Birmingham Airport handled 13.66 million passengers in 2025. There is a single passenger terminal, so every flight, arriving or departing, uses the same building. The airport recommends collecting arrivals from the car parks next to the terminal; its drop-off car park on Airport Way lies further out and is linked to the terminal by a shuttle bus.

The city centre of Birmingham is 15 miles west, 30–40 minutes. Aston, the district of Villa Park, is 14 miles, 30–40 minutes. To the south, Stratford-upon-Avon is 27 miles, 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes. Oxford is a longer run: 67 miles, 1 hour 30 minutes to 1 hour 55 minutes. Northbound, Stoke-on-Trent is 55 miles, 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes.

When you fly in, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pick-up to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur; the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules. On the way out, you set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Sprinter Van Service at Birmingham Airport (BHX)

The NEC, the exhibition centre on the far side of Birmingham International station, brings stand crews to BHX with display cases, samples and lighting kit. By road it is about 2 miles from the terminal, 15–20 minutes. For a crew of this size, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 passengers with their luggage. Put every case and box in the booking, and the vehicle is matched to the load. If the team comes from different cities, on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own.

Motorsport teams form another kind of group. Silverstone Circuit, home of the British Grand Prix, is about 54 miles from the airport, 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes. Shoppers bound for Bicester Village cover 54 miles, 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes. If a flight lands at East Midlands Airport instead, that airport is about 37 miles away by road, 1 hour to 1 hour 25 minutes, and one van carries the whole party with its cases.

Coach Service at Birmingham Airport (BHX)

From 4 to 7 March 2027 the NEC hosts Crufts, and breed clubs, judges and exhibitors travel to it as organised parties. Coaches come in several sizes with up to 56 seats, and the luggage travels in the hold, so forty delegates and their bags leave the terminal in one vehicle.

From 5 November to 24 December 2026 the Frankfurt Christmas Market fills Victoria Square and New Street, and coach parties come to the city for it. Parts of the market area are closed to traffic, so send the full address with the booking and we will tell you how close the car can go. Longer routes run from BHX as well: Milton Keynes is 65 miles, 1 hour 25 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes, and Bristol 95 miles, 1 hour 55 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes.

Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early for Crufts week and the Christmas market weekends. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your airport transfer with Bookinglane.

How many terminals are there at Birmingham Airport?

Just one. Check-in, security, departures and arrivals are all in a single passenger terminal, so you do not have to choose between buildings. Still, put your flight number in the booking, because it sets the time of an arrival pick-up.

Is Birmingham International station at the airport?

Next to it. The Air-Rail Link people mover connects the terminal with Birmingham International station, which also serves the NEC and has trains to Birmingham New Street and London Euston. If you continue by car from a train instead, add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.

Does Birmingham Airport charge for setting down passengers?

Stopping close to the doors is charged: the Premium Set Down area beside the terminal is a paid zone. The drop-off car park on Airport Way gives a short period at no cost and has a shuttle bus to the terminal, though reports from 2026 differ on how long that period is. The rules and current rates of each charge are published by the authority or airport that runs it.

Is Birmingham Airport inside the Clean Air Zone?

No. The airport is in the borough of Solihull, while Birmingham's Clean Air Zone covers the roads inside the A4540 Middleway ring road in the city centre. It is a Class D zone that applies around the clock, so vehicles that miss its emission standards, private cars included, are charged inside it. The rules and current rates of each charge are published by the authority or airport that runs it.

Our group arrives on different flights — can that be arranged?

Yes. Every flight needs its own transfer: an exhibition team landing from Dublin and from Frankfurt two hours apart is handled as two separate bookings. Before you book a van, tell support how many cases, boxes or sports bags travel with the party, not only the number of passengers. For Crufts week, book well ahead.

What do passengers need to know about Birmingham Airport (BHX) in 2026 and 2027?

easyJet added routes from Birmingham to Inverness on 30 March 2026 and to Nice on 1 May 2026, and Ryanair based a ninth aircraft here for summer 2026. Crufts takes place at the NEC from 4 to 7 March 2027, and Jet2 has announced a La Rochelle route for summer 2027.
