Airport Transfers from Birmingham Airport (BHX) to Birmingham

1-12 passengers For business
Trusted by professionals at
One-Way Transfer
A one-way transfer covers one journey between two addresses: BHX to a law firm on Colmore Row, the terminal to a hotel facing Centenary Square, or an apartment near Snow Hill to the airport for the first flight of the day. For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time; for a departure, you set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: from the terminal to a hotel next to the ICC for a three-day congress and back to Birmingham Airport after the closing session, or to an apartment in the Jewellery Quarter and out again when the business week ends. Cars in the city go early when Crufts or the Christmas market is on. With both directions in one booking, the return is secured from the start; you set both pick-up times yourself, and the confirmation lists them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for a set number of hours. When you book, you set the start at BHX, the final address and the hours you need, and you add the day's plan to the reservation so the chauffeur has it before your flight lands. It suits an arrival day with appointments, not a straight run to one hotel.

Birmingham Airport to Birmingham: Route and Drive Time

Birmingham Airport lies east of the city, inside the borough of Solihull, and the drive from its terminal to the city centre is 15 miles, normally 30–40 minutes. The A45 leads from the airport side of town towards the centre, so the route is direct; the hour of the day decides how long it takes.

The final stretch depends on where in the centre you are going. Law firms and banks cluster around Colmore Row, close to Snow Hill station. The ICC and its hotels stand on Broad Street beside Centenary Square, on the western side of the core. New Street, Moor Street and Snow Hill stations are all close together, and the A4540 Middleway ring road wraps around the whole centre.

Journey times vary with traffic and weather. When you book, give the hotel or office name together with the street address.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Birmingham Airport

All flights at Birmingham Airport use one passenger terminal; in 2025 it handled 13.66 million passengers. Arriving passengers are directed to the car parks by the terminal, and the more remote drop-off site on Airport Way has a shuttle bus.

For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules.

Rail is the other way in: the Air-Rail Link people mover runs from the terminal to Birmingham International station, with trains to New Street. With suitcases and a hotel off Broad Street or in the Jewellery Quarter, the car takes you and the bags to the address in one step, without the change at the station.

Arriving at Your Address in Birmingham

After London, Birmingham is England's biggest city, yet its business core is compact. If you are attending a congress at the ICC, a hotel on or near Broad Street keeps the walk short; for meetings around Colmore Row, a hotel up towards Snow Hill is closer.

Pedestrians have the run of Victoria Square and most of New Street. For a hotel or office there, send the full address with the booking and we will tell you how close the car can go.

The Frankfurt Christmas Market takes over the same area from 5 November to 24 December 2026, and part of New Street is left without stalls because of works near Bennetts Hill and Temple Street. If you arrive in those weeks, the exact entrance of your hotel matters even more.

From Birmingham Back to Birmingham Airport

For the drive out, allow 30–40 minutes in light traffic, more when the Middleway and the roads east of the centre fill in the morning and evening peaks. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

With one terminal for the whole airport, the departure point is the same for all airlines.

The NEC sits next to the airport, and its biggest shows bring extra traffic to the same roads. Crufts runs there from 4 to 7 March 2027; if your flight leaves during the show, start a little earlier than you otherwise would.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your airport transfer with Bookinglane.

How far is Birmingham Airport from Birmingham city centre?

The terminal and the city centre are 15 miles apart, normally 30–40 minutes by road. Peak hours on the Middleway can add to that; the booking should carry your flight number and the hotel address.

My flight is held up by several hours. Do I need to rebook the car?

No. The chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time, so a long delay simply moves the pick-up. Check the flight number you entered.

Where does the car collect me at Birmingham Airport?

At the one passenger terminal, used by every airline; the airport points arriving passengers to the car parks beside it. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules.

Is my city-centre hotel inside Birmingham's Clean Air Zone?

If it is inside the A4540 Middleway ring road, yes; the Middleway itself and the airport, in Solihull, are outside. The zone is Class D and runs around the clock, so a car that fails its emission standards pays like a van or bus would. The rules and current rates of each charge are published by the authority or airport that runs it.

We are an exhibition team with display cases. Which vehicle suits us?

The load counts as much as the head count. Before you book, tell support how many cases, boxes or sports bags travel with the party, not only the number of passengers. A Sprinter van seats a dozen at most, bags included; a bigger stand crew goes by coach.

What do you need to know about Birmingham Airport in 2026–2027?

The Frankfurt Christmas Market fills the city centre between 5 November and 24 December 2026, and Crufts returns to the NEC beside the airport on 4–7 March 2027. After the 2026 reset of HS2, the first trains into Birmingham Curzon Street are expected between 2036 and 2039.
