Getting Around Tarragona
Tarragona's port and its old town sit at different levels. Down at sea level is the port, which the city council calls the main economic engine of the area; in the first eight months of 2026 it handled 13.1 million tonnes of liquid bulk, most of it oil products and chemicals. Behind it lies the Camp de Tarragona petrochemical industry: 34 large multinational companies on 1,200 hectares, according to the chemical companies' association AEQT. Up on the hill is the Part Alta, the old town, with the Roman remains of Tarraco, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000. A plant visit and a hotel among the Roman walls can be part of the same trip.
The city has two stations. Tarragona station, in the centre, has regional trains to Barcelona, Reus and Lleida and long-distance services to València, Andalusia, Madrid and France. Camp de Tarragona, the high-speed station, is about 12 km outside the centre, with AVE links to Madrid, Zaragoza, Seville and Málaga among others. Include your train details and arrival time when booking so we can arrange your pickup at the station.
For a full day of meetings at the port or in the industrial area, hourly service reserves one chauffeur and one vehicle for the hours you book. Send the plan for the day with the booking.
Since the end of 2025 the city's low-emission zone applies on working days from 7 am to 7 pm to the streets inside a ring that includes the Passeig d'Espanya and the Moll de Costa; the perimeter roads themselves are not restricted. Send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.

Airport Transfers in Tarragona
Tarragona has two airports to choose from. Reus Airport is the nearer, about 13 km away and 25 to 35 minutes by car, with most of its flights in the summer season. Barcelona-El Prat, about 95 km north-east, offers a wider range of international connections for travellers heading to the Costa Daurada, and by road it is 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes away.
The El Prat run is motorway almost all the way, on the AP-7 and then the C-32 along the coast. From Reus it is a short drive of about 13 km. Journey times vary with traffic and weather.
Book with your flight number. For airport pickups, your chauffeur monitors your flight and adjusts the pickup if your arrival time changes. Your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. Leaving Tarragona, allow for the drive to the airport when choosing your pickup time: 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes to El Prat, longer at peak hours. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Multi-City Travel from Tarragona
Tarragona is well placed for journeys to other cities, and a business trip can continue to one of them. Barcelona is about 95 km north-east and Lleida about 98 km inland. Zaragoza, about 230 km west, and València, about 260 km south, are working days of their own: a supplier after the port, a client after the plant visit. The whole trip is one booking: the same chauffeur takes you from the hotel in Tarragona to the meeting at the other end, and the meeting time is the fixed point.
Closer in, Salou and PortAventura World are about 12 km along the coast, which suits a weekend after the meetings, and Reus about 15 km inland.
For a return by high-speed train, the transfer runs to Camp de Tarragona, about 12 km from the centre. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Groups & Congress Travel in Tarragona
Groups also reach Tarragona by sea. The port expects around 80 cruise calls in 2026, and by August it had already welcomed 84,529 cruise passengers. Viking has made Tarragona one of its home ports in the Mediterranean, so a party flying in to board a ship at the Moll de Balears, for example, starts with an airport transfer to the quay. Yachts bring guests too: Port Tarraco, on the Moll de Costa, has 115 berths for yachts of 24 to 120 m.
Organisers can keep the whole programme in a single account, and each transfer still has its own booking and confirmation: the delegation from El Prat, the engineers arriving at Camp de Tarragona, the guests going on to dinner in the Part Alta. Where a group moves together, a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats.
The months to book ahead are May for Tarraco Viva, the Roman festival, Santa Tecla in late September, and October for the Concurs de Castells in the years it is held, with the cruise season running from spring to late autumn. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early for those dates. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
