Getting Around Salou
Salou is a resort built along its seafront. Passeig Jaume I is the main promenade, and from Punta de Sant Pere a 9.5 km coastal path follows Cap Salou past the coves to Racó de Salou, next to La Pineda. The tourist board counts 25 beaches and coves, 58 hotels and two campsites. PortAventura World, with three parks and six hotels, lies just inland, on the boundary with Vila-seca.
Salou–PortAventura station, on Avinguda de Joan Fuster, has regional trains to Tarragona and Barcelona. High-speed trains from Madrid, Zaragoza and Andalusia use Camp de Tarragona instead, some 25 km inland. Include your train details and arrival time when booking so we can arrange your pickup at the station.
For an evening out of town, Cambrils is about 8 km along the coast, Reus about 10 km inland and Tarragona about 12 km to the east. Book a transfer there and a second one back at the pickup time you set.
Send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.

Airport Transfers to Salou
Reus Airport is the closest to Salou, some 12 km from the centre, with a transfer of 25 to 35 minutes. Aena presents it as the gateway to the Costa Daurada, and its flights are concentrated in the summer season. When Reus has no flight that suits you, Barcelona-El Prat, about 105 km north-east, is the choice, and that drive takes 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes.
From Reus it is a short run of about 12 km. From El Prat the route is the C-32 and then the AP-7 motorway down the coast, leaving it for the C-31B into Salou. Journey times vary with traffic and weather.
Book with your flight number: your chauffeur monitors your flight and adjusts the pickup if your arrival time changes. Your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. Leaving Salou, allow for the drive to the airport when choosing your pickup time: 25 to 35 minutes to Reus and 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes to El Prat, longer in July and August. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Multi-City Travel from Salou
A beach holiday in Salou can be combined with a city stay. Barcelona is about 108 km to the north-east, and a city stay before or after the resort is a single booking from one hotel to the next, the family's luggage travelling in the same vehicle. Closer in, the Roman sites of Tarragona and the Modernist buildings of Reus make half-day trips.
Further out, the Delta de l'Ebre is about 68 km to the south, a day of wetlands and rice fields by car. Each is booked as an ordinary journey from your hotel.
Salou–PortAventura has regional trains only, so a high-speed journey home begins at Camp de Tarragona, about 25 km away. The transfer runs from the hotel to the station at the pickup time you set.

Groups, Luggage & Summer Travel in Salou
Salou is set up for families and teams. In 2003 it became the first destination in Catalonia certified for family tourism, and it holds the Catalan sports tourism seal for football, sailing, cycling, golf and triathlon, with 23 football pitches and events such as the Mare Nostrum Cup. A youth squad with kit bags or a family with buggies and theme-park shopping needs enough seats and luggage space. Tell us what you are bringing and the vehicle is matched to the load. A Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats. If the group arrives on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own.
The season follows the beach and the park. Reus has most of its flights between spring and autumn, and PortAventura World runs Halloween events in the autumn.
The dates to book early are summer, Sant Joan in June, the Nits Daurades in August, the town festival at the end of October and the winter festival with the Cós Blanc in January and February. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early for those dates. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
