Getting Around Benidorm
Benidorm is two beaches and a headland. Levante runs east to the Rincón de Loix, Poniente runs west, and between them, on the promontory, sit the old town and the Balcón del Mediterráneo viewpoint. The towers that make the skyline are hotels and apartments along both beaches, so where you stay decides which side of the headland your evenings start from, and the walk from one end of Levante to the far end of Poniente is longer than it looks from the balcony.
Benidorm has no mainline railway. The coastal tram links it with central Alicante, and travellers arriving by train from Madrid, Valencia or Barcelona can continue from Alicante's station, about 45 km away, which is where a car earns its place with a week's luggage. Include your train details and arrival time when booking so we can arrange your pickup at the station.
The evenings reach beyond the beaches. Altea's hilltop old town is about 12 km up the coast, and the castle village of Guadalest about 20 km inland. A transfer there and another back, booked for the times you choose, means an evening in Altea does not end with a wait for the last tram.
The old town, Levante and Poniente form Benidorm's low-emission zone, with cameras at the entry points, and these are also the town's busiest streets on foot. Send us the full address at booking, and we will say how close to it the car can get.

Airport Transfers to Benidorm
Most arrivals come through Alicante-Elche, about 55 km south-west. It is the closest airport by a long way, and the transfer takes 45 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes. Valencia Airport, about 150 km north, is the alternative when its flight times suit better, and it is a drive of roughly two hours.
From Alicante the road is the A-70 and then the AP-7 motorway, which carries you most of the way; from Valencia it is the AP-7 south along the coast. After leaving the motorway at the edge of town, the last part of the drive, to a hotel on Levante or Poniente, runs through Benidorm's own streets. Journey times vary with traffic and the time of day.
Book with your flight number: your chauffeur monitors your flight and adjusts the pickup if your arrival time changes. Your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. Leaving Benidorm, allow for the drive to the airport when choosing your pickup time: 45 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes to Alicante, longer in the summer traffic. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Multi-City Travel from Benidorm
Not every journey out of Benidorm is to the airport. Some holidays have a second part: a few nights in Alicante, about 45 km south, or a move up the coast to Calpe, about 25 km, or Dénia, about 55 km, for the rest of the fortnight. With a week's luggage that is one booking, from the hotel you are leaving to the one you are arriving at.
Valencia, about 140 km north on the AP-7, is a day out or a city stay of its own, and Murcia, about 125 km south, is within reach for a day. Because Benidorm has no mainline railway station, a journey to either by train starts with a change in Alicante; by car it is a single run from the hotel, with the address at the far end as the only fixed point.
For a return home by rail rather than air, the AVE leaves from Alicante, so the transfer runs from Benidorm to the station at the pickup time you choose.

Groups, Luggage & Summer Travel in Benidorm
Benidorm fills with groups: families on a fortnight, friends on a birthday week, sports teams training at the stadium complex in La Nucía. The town hall expected more than 30,000 people at the 2025 Fancy Dress Party in November, most of them in groups and many in costume. Luggage, buggies and kit help determine the vehicle size alongside the passenger count, so tell us what you are bringing and the vehicle is matched to the load. A Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats. If the group arrives on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own.
The season here is long. Benidorm's hotels averaged 82.2% occupancy across 2025, so it is sensible to book transfers ahead throughout the year, and summer is when the roads in and out of town are at their fullest.
The dates to book early are summer, Benidorm Fest in late January or February, Pride in September and the fiestas in November, with the Fancy Dress Party at the end of them. Local vehicles and drivers are booked up early for those dates. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
