Alicante Airport to Benidorm: Route and Drive Time
Benidorm is 55 km north-east of Alicante-Elche Airport. The car takes the A-70 around Alicante and then the AP-7 motorway, which covers most of the journey, and leaves it at the edge of town for the last streets to the hotel. The whole transfer usually takes 45 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes.
Of the two airports that serve Benidorm, this is the near one by a wide margin; Valencia is 150 km away. The motorway section is steady. What stretches the time is summer traffic around Alicante and in Benidorm itself, where the final kilometre to a hotel entrance often runs through one-way streets.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. Alongside the flight number, send the hotel's street address as well as its name, and say which beach it is on.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Alicante Airport
Holiday flights for the Costa Blanca, whatever the airline, come into the same building at Alicante-Elche, the terminal that has handled every passenger flight since 2011. Once the bags are off the belt, everyone leaves through the one arrivals hall.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules. With an hour of road still ahead after landing, a delay changes the time you set off for Benidorm, not the arrangement itself.
The terminal is due to be enlarged under Aena's 2027–2031 plan, but that project is still being designed and has no date for works. In 2026 and 2027 arrivals use the building as it stands.

Arriving at Your Hotel in Benidorm
Benidorm's hotels line two beaches on either side of the old town: Levante, just over 2 km of sand running east towards the Rincón de Loix, and the quieter Poniente to the west. The side of the headland your hotel is on decides the last part of the route into town.
The old town, Levante and Poniente together make up the low-emission zone, watched by cameras where the streets enter it, and many hotel entrances open onto a side street rather than the seafront promenade. That is why the booking needs the street and number, not just the beach.
Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. For a holiday apartment, add the building's name and any reception or key-collection details from the owner.

From Benidorm Back to Alicante Airport
Leaving Benidorm, the useful thing to know is how long the road takes, not when to leave: 45 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes to Alicante-Elche, longer in heavy traffic. The pickup time you choose is confirmed with the reservation.
In summer the roads in and out of Benidorm carry their heaviest traffic, and a hotel at the far end of Levante or Poniente starts further from the motorway, so choose the pickup time with both in mind. All departures use the one terminal, whatever the airline.
When the last nights of the trip are spent in Alicante before the flight, book the hotel there as the drop-off: the city is 46 km from Benidorm, 45 minutes to 1 hour, and the airport run on the last day is then a short separate transfer.
