Vancouver International Airport to Vancouver: Route and Drive Time
The airport is not in Vancouver itself but on Sea Island in Richmond, south of the city across the Fraser River. Downtown Vancouver is 13 km north of the terminal, and the drive usually takes 20–25 minutes; on weekday mornings and late afternoons it can run longer.
The final kilometres lead to the downtown peninsula. Along the waterfront on Burrard Inlet, Canada Place and the Vancouver Convention Centre sit side by side, with large hotels a few blocks inland. A trip to a home in Kitsilano or an office near Broadway ends before the core, while an address in the West End or near Stanley Park continues to its far side.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Vancouver International Airport
The Main Terminal handles scheduled jets and is split into a domestic side and an international side. Passengers coming from abroad clear Canadian customs and collect their bags before they reach the arrivals area, which takes its own time after a long-haul flight. Floatplanes and regional airlines use the separate South Terminal. Give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.
Between the domestic and international buildings, a footbridge holds the Canada Line platform, the train link to downtown. For a later flight to the US, the airport has preclearance. With US preclearance, you clear US customs before boarding a flight to the US.

Arriving at Your Address in Vancouver
Two waterfront buildings receive a large share of the arrivals on this route. Canada Place is the terminal for Alaska cruises, and the port expected nearly 360 ship calls and over 1.4 million passengers in its 2026 season. Next to it, the Vancouver Convention Centre has an East and a West building with 466,500 sq ft of space for meetings, exhibitions and banquets.
Cruise passengers usually land a day early and spend the night in a downtown hotel; on sailing day, the car can go from the hotel to the pier with the luggage. Delegates often head straight from the terminal to registration.
Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. For the cruise terminal, add the ship's name and sailing date to the booking.

From Vancouver Back to Vancouver International Airport
Count 20–25 minutes from downtown to the terminal on a normal day, and more in the weekday afternoon peak. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
Cruise mornings need their own plan. When a ship docks at Canada Place, passengers leave it with full luggage within a few hours, and many fly out the same day; booking the pickup from the pier with the flight time in mind avoids a rush at the terminal. For a flight to the US, allow for preclearance before the gate.
From the North Shore, the trip begins with the Lions Gate Bridge, whose centre lane changes direction during the day, so allow extra time in the late afternoon.
