Airport Transfers from or to Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport (YOW)

Trusted by professionals at
One-Way Service
One-Way Service covers one journey between two addresses: YOW to a ministry office downtown, the terminal to a hotel in Gatineau, the airport to a chalet at Tremblant. For an airport pickup, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur; the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: from the terminal to a hotel by the Rideau Canal when your flight lands, then back to YOW after the last session at Rogers Centre Ottawa. During Winterlude and the Tulip Festival, cars in the capital are reserved well in advance. With both directions in one booking, the return is secured from the start; you set both pickup times yourself, and the confirmation lists them.
Hourly Service
Some arrival days do not end at one address. With hourly service from YOW you choose at booking where the day starts, where it ends and how many hours you need, and the same chauffeur and vehicle remain with you for that whole period. Send the day's program with the booking, so the chauffeur has it before you land. It suits a day built around appointments rather than a single destination.

Limo and Chauffeur Service at Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport (YOW)

YOW counted 4,866,236 passengers in 2025. The airport lies on the south side of the capital, and all flights use one terminal building, with arrivals and departures on separate floors. It is one of the Canadian airports where US customs officers work on site. With US preclearance, you clear US customs before boarding a flight to the US.

Downtown Ottawa is 14 km from the terminal, 20–25 minutes by car. Gatineau, on the Quebec side of the river, is 15 km, also 20–25 minutes. Heading east, Montreal is 197 km, 2 hours 10 minutes to 2 hours 55 minutes, and Laval 191 km, 2 hours 5 minutes to 2 hours 50 minutes. For skiing, count 176 km to Mont-Tremblant, 2 hours 15 minutes to 3 hours.

For an arrival, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur; the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules. For a departure, you set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Sprinter Van Service at Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport (YOW)

Delegations visiting federal departments and congress teams bound for Rogers Centre Ottawa, the former Shaw Centre beside the Rideau Canal, are typical van groups at YOW. The centre has 192,000 sq ft of usable space, and exhibitors often fly in with display cases and printed material. A Sprinter van carries up to 12 passengers with their luggage. Send a list of the cases with the booking, and the vehicle is matched to the load. If a delegation comes in on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own; when you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation.

Some meetings take place on the other side of the river. The Palais des congrès de Gatineau has 12 meeting rooms without columns and 5,100 m² in total, and one van from the terminal brings the whole team there with its equipment.

Charter Bus Service at Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport (YOW)

School trips to the capital, tour groups and sports teams often leave YOW as one party. Coaches come in several sizes with up to 56 seats, and the luggage travels in the hold. In May the Canadian Tulip Festival fills the city parks, and 2027 brings its 75th edition. Winterlude, which Ottawa Tourism lists for 29 January to 15 February 2027, brings groups to both sides of the river.

Ski clubs can ride from the airport to Mont-Tremblant, 176 km away, 2 hours 15 minutes to 3 hours, through the Outaouais. Kingston, on Lake Ontario, lies about 184 km south-west, 2 hours to 2 hours 40 minutes by Highways 416 and 401.

For Winterlude weekends, local vehicles and drivers are booked up early. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your airport transfer with Bookinglane.

Is there a train from Ottawa airport to downtown?

Yes. Since January 2025, O-Train Line 4 has run from the airport station, which connects to the terminal, to South Keys, from 6 am to midnight; riders for the core switch there to Line 2 and again to Line 1 at Bayview. By car, downtown Ottawa is 14 km, usually 20–25 minutes. Book with your flight number, and the pickup follows the time you land.

How far is Montreal airport from Ottawa airport?

Montréal–Trudeau is about 185 km from YOW, 2 hours to 2 hours 40 minutes by road on Highways 417 and 40. If your flight leaves from Trudeau, a chauffeur can take you from your Ottawa address or from YOW straight to that terminal, with all the luggage in the same car.

Is there US preclearance at YOW?

Yes. YOW has US preclearance, so passengers flying to the United States complete US customs and immigration in Ottawa before they board. Allow time for it when you set the pickup for a departure to the US.

Can a car from YOW take me to Gatineau?

Yes. Gatineau is 15 km from the terminal, 20–25 minutes, across one of the bridges over the river. Repair work on the Macdonald-Cartier Bridge continues into 2027, so the chauffeur picks the crossing that suits the traffic of the day.

Our group arrives on different flights — can that be arranged?

Yes. A delegation or a school group often reaches the capital on more than one flight; if it lands on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. When you send the request, tell support how many cases, boxes or sports bags travel with the party, not only the number of passengers.

What do passengers need to know about Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport (YOW) in 2026 and 2027?

The ALT Hotel opened at the airport in February 2026, completing the YOW+ terminal upgrades, and the airport's chief executive has said the terminal itself will need to grow over the medium to long term. Work on the Macdonald-Cartier Bridge to Gatineau is due to end in 2027, and Winterlude is planned for 29 January to 15 February 2027, according to Ottawa Tourism.
