One-Way Transfer
A one-way transfer covers one journey between two addresses: YOW to the Palais des congrès de Gatineau, the terminal to the Hilton Lac-Leamy, the airport to a family home in Aylmer. For an arrival, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: from YOW across the river to a hotel at Lac-Leamy on arrival, then from the hotel to the terminal once the closing session ends at the Palais des congrès. On a Bal de Neige weekend, with streets closed in Hull, it helps to have the return arranged in advance. With both directions in one booking, the return is secured from the start; you set both pickup times yourself, and the confirmation lists them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for a set number of hours. When you book, you set the start at YOW, the final address and the hours you need, and you add the day's plan to the reservation so the chauffeur has it before your flight lands. It suits an arrival day with appointments, not a straight run to one hotel.

Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport to Gatineau: Route and Drive Time

The airport is on the Ontario side of the National Capital Region and Gatineau on the Quebec side, so every trip ends with a crossing of the Ottawa River. The run is 15 km, usually 20–25 minutes.

Five crossings link the two shores: the Macdonald-Cartier, Alexandra, Portage and Champlain bridges and the Chaudière Crossing. Repairs on the Macdonald-Cartier Bridge run until 2027, and lane closures on one bridge or another change the quickest way across from week to week, so the chauffeur picks the crossing on the day. Journey times vary with traffic and weather.

On the Quebec side, the trip ends in Hull, the old centre facing Parliament Hill, at Lac-Leamy, or further west in Aylmer.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport

YOW handles all its flights in a single terminal, arrivals on one floor and departures on another. Whether you fly in from elsewhere in Canada, from Europe or from the US, you come out in the same building, and the car leaves from there for the Quebec shore.

For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.

O-Train Line 4 serves the airport, but it runs towards South Keys, away from the river; with luggage and a hotel in Hull, a car straight from the terminal is the simpler choice.

Arriving at Your Address in Gatineau

The Palais des congrès de Gatineau, in Hull, has 12 meeting rooms without columns and about 5,100 m² in all. Beside Leamy Lake, the Casino du Lac-Leamy complex includes a Hilton hotel with conference rooms of its own.

Gatineau Park begins at the edge of the city, and its parkways follow their own timetable: under an NCC pilot project, the main ones admit cars solely on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, from early afternoon, and in winter they become ski trails. For a lodge or trailhead in the park, check the opening days first.

Send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.

From Gatineau Back to Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport

The return is 20–25 minutes on a normal day, with extra margin when bridge works narrow the lanes towards Ottawa. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

The Portage, Chaudière and Alexandra crossings are closed to vehicles on Canada Day (1 July), so the car goes by the Macdonald-Cartier or Champlain bridge. During the Bal de Neige, Gatineau also closes some downtown streets, such as rue Laurier, on festival weekends.

YOW has US preclearance. With US preclearance, you clear US customs before boarding a flight to the US. Cars registered in Quebec must have winter tires from 1 December to 15 March.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your airport transfer with Bookinglane.

Can my pet travel with me from Ottawa airport to Gatineau?

Yes, if you select the pet option when booking. All pets must be in a crate or carrier.

Can I ask for a quiet ride from Ottawa airport to Gatineau?

A quiet ride can be selected in the booking form.

My flight into Ottawa airport is late: does the pickup for Gatineau still work?

Yes. The chauffeur follows your flight, so the pickup follows the actual landing. Complimentary waiting time is included with airport pickups and is counted from the actual landing, which leaves room for customs and baggage claim.

Which bridge does the car take to Gatineau?

The one that suits the traffic of the day. The Macdonald-Cartier Bridge is under repair until 2027, and on Canada Day the Portage, Chaudière and Alexandra crossings are closed to cars, which leaves the Macdonald-Cartier and Champlain bridges.

Can a car service carry paying passengers on the Quebec side?

Yes, within the rules: anywhere in the province, Quebec law allows paid rides only with a qualified driver in a qualified vehicle, and that also covers transfers ending in Gatineau.

What do you need to know about Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport in 2026–2027?

A new ALT Hotel opened at YOW in February 2026, completing the YOW+ upgrades. The Macdonald-Cartier Bridge repairs toward Gatineau are due to end in 2027, and Ottawa Tourism lists the 2027 Bal de Neige for 29 January to 15 February.
