Airport Transfers from Montréal–Trudeau International Airport (YUL) to Montreal

One-Way Transfer
A one-way transfer covers one journey between two addresses: Trudeau to the Palais des congrès, the international section to a hotel on boulevard René-Lévesque, the US jetty to Gare Centrale for a train to Québec City. For an arrival, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: from Trudeau to a hotel in Old Montreal when you land, and from that hotel back to the right section of the terminal on the day you fly home. On Grand Prix weekend in late May, having the return already arranged spares you a search for a car. With both directions in one booking, the return is secured from the start; you set both pickup times yourself, and the confirmation lists them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for a set number of hours. When you book, you set the start at YUL, the final address and the hours you need, and you add the day's plan to the reservation so the chauffeur has it before your flight lands. It suits an arrival day with appointments, not a straight run to one hotel.

Montréal–Trudeau International Airport to Montreal: Route and Drive Time

Trudeau airport is in Dorval, on the western part of the island of Montreal, and downtown lies to the east, 19 km away and usually 25–35 minutes by car, using Autoroute 20 or Autoroute 520 out of the airport; at rush hour or in a snowstorm the drive takes longer.

Where the trip ends shapes its last part. Downtown towers and hotels line boulevard René-Lévesque and the streets around Gare Centrale. The Palais des congrès sits between downtown and Old Montreal, and the old quarter itself, with its narrow streets, runs down to the port. Île Notre-Dame, home of the Grand Prix circuit, lies across the water from the old port.

Journey times vary with traffic and weather. When you book, give the full address and, for a large complex, the entrance you need.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Montréal–Trudeau International Airport

Trudeau works as one terminal building divided into three sections: domestic flights, international flights and the jetty for flights to and from the United States. You come out in the section of the flight you arrived on, so the flight number in the booking matters more than any terminal name.

For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.

A passenger arriving from overseas clears Canadian customs and collects bags before reaching the exit, which can take time on a busy evening. As the pickup follows the landing time of your flight, that wait is already part of the plan.

Arriving at Your Address in Montreal

Most business addresses lie in Ville-Marie, the borough of downtown and Old Montreal. The Palais des congrès covers 1.4 million sq ft, about 510,000 of them rentable for congresses and trade shows, and is linked to the Underground City. Gare Centrale, VIA Rail's main station, stands on rue De La Gauchetière with connections to Bonaventure metro station and the REM.

Old Montreal is different. Its streets are narrow and some hotels sit on lanes close to the port; for an address there, send the full address with the booking and we will tell you how close the car can go. Cruise passengers use the Grand Quai of the Port of Montréal from late April to the end of October, and the terminal can be your drop-off address.

For hotels in the downtown core, give the street entrance as well as the hotel name, as several share large complexes.

From Montreal Back to Montréal–Trudeau International Airport

For the ride out, the length of the drive is what counts: 25–35 minutes from downtown on a normal day, more at the evening peak or when snow falls. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

At Trudeau, the car goes to the section of your departure. If you are flying to the United States, you leave from the transborder jetty, and Trudeau has US preclearance. With US preclearance, you clear US customs before boarding a flight to the US, so allow that time inside the terminal.

Two periods in the city need extra margin. The Grand Prix du Canada now runs on a weekend in late May, and the summer festival season follows in June and July, with the Jazz Festival, Just for Laughs and Osheaga drawing large crowds to the centre and the islands.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your airport transfer with Bookinglane.

My flight into Montréal–Trudeau is late: does the pickup for Montreal still work?

Yes. The chauffeur follows your flight, so the pickup follows the actual landing. Complimentary waiting time is included with airport pickups and is counted from the actual landing, which leaves room for customs and baggage claim.

Can I request a child seat for the ride from Montréal–Trudeau to Montreal?

Child seats are requested in the booking form: choose a booster or an infant and child safety seat and the number you need. Vehicle availability varies by market.

I have golf bags or other bulky items: how do I book the ride from Montréal–Trudeau to Montreal?

Enter the number of bags in the booking form; for golf bags, bikes, skis or other bulky items, tell support so the vehicle is matched to the load. A Sprinter van carries up to 12 passengers with their luggage.

Can the car drive into Old Montreal?

Many addresses in Old Montreal can be reached, but the streets are narrow and some hotels sit on small lanes near the port. Send the full address with the booking and we will tell you how close the car can go.

Our delegation flies in from several cities — how are the arrivals handled?

When a delegation lands on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own, and when you book for other people, all their transfers stay in one account. For a team with exhibition cases, tell support how many cases, boxes or sports bags travel with the party, not only the number of passengers.

What do you need to know about Montréal–Trudeau International Airport in 2026–2027?

The REM light-rail station at Trudeau is due at the end of 2027, under the rebuilt multi-level parking garage. In the city, the Grand Prix du Canada stays in late May. Cars registered in Quebec must have winter tires from 1 December to 15 March.
