London International Airport to London: Route and Drive Time
YXU lies in the north-east part of London. The distance to downtown is 11 km, about 15–20 minutes by car, which leaves time to drop bags at a hotel and still reach an afternoon meeting.
The last part of the trip depends on where you stay. Downtown, the hotels sit close to the convention centre and the train station, while the university says its main Western campus is a drive of roughly 10 minutes north of the core.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. In September, when the Western Fair and the start of term bring extra visitors to the city, allow a little more time.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at London International Airport
YXU recorded 297,822 passengers and 112,009 aircraft movements in 2025. Travellers arrive in a single main terminal building, renovated and enlarged in 2003, so the flight number alone is enough to plan the meeting.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.
Flights come in from Calgary with WestJet and from Toronto Pearson with Air Canada Express, and in winter WestJet, Air Transat and Porter bring travellers home from the sun. If you connect through Pearson, a delay there shifts your landing in London, and the pickup moves with it.

Arriving at Your Address in London
RBC Place London, at 300 York Street, hosts the city's conferences in about 86,500 sq ft of event space. Its King Street Ballroom, 12,300 sq ft, opened on 1 October 2025 and is joined to the main centre by a raised pedway, so delegates staying nearby can walk between sessions.
On the Western grounds, residences, faculty offices and Western Alumni Stadium sit well apart. Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. For a residence, add the building name as well.
If a train is your next leg, London's VIA station stands on York Street at the corner of Clarence, a short walk from RBC Place.

From London Back to London International Airport
The way back is just as short: 11 km to the terminal, 15–20 minutes. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it. Arrivals and departures share the one terminal building, so there is no choice to make on the way in.
The calendar matters more than the distance. On Homecoming weekend at Western, in late September, reunions and the Mustangs football game at Western Alumni Stadium fill the streets around campus, and a pickup from a residence needs a wider margin. For an early flight, set the time from the check-in deadline your airline gives.
