Airport Transfers from Calgary International Airport (YYC) to Banff

One-Way Transfer
A one-way transfer covers one journey between two addresses: the International Terminal to the Banff Centre, the Domestic Terminal to a hotel on Banff Avenue, YYC to a lodge at Lake Louise. For an arrival, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: from YYC to a hotel on Banff Avenue when you land, and from the hotel back to the right terminal building at the end of your stay. With a long mountain drive at each end, a return already in place leaves one thing less to arrange after the last ski day. With both directions in one booking, the return is secured from the start; you set both pickup times yourself, and the confirmation lists them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for a set number of hours. When you book, you set the start at YYC, the final address and the hours you need, and you add the day's plan to the reservation so the chauffeur has it before your flight lands. It suits an arrival day with appointments, not a straight run to one hotel.

Calgary International Airport to Banff: Route and Drive Time

The trip from YYC to Banff is a mountain run of 136 km, usually 1 hour 35 minutes to 2 hours 10 minutes. The car leaves the airport on the north-east side of Calgary, crosses the city and follows the Trans-Canada Highway west past Canmore into Banff National Park. Inside the park the highway is twinned along its whole length.

Snow and busy summer weekends can add time, and the upper figure is the realistic one in a storm. Journey times vary with traffic and weather.

The park entrance shapes the plan. Driving straight through the park on the highway needs no pass, but the Town of Banff is inside the park, so a visit to Banff needs a Parks Canada pass for the people in the car. The pass is the traveller's to arrange; a Family/Group pass covers up to seven people arriving together in one vehicle.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Calgary International Airport

YYC has two terminal buildings. Domestic flights use the Domestic Terminal, and international and US flights use the International Terminal, opened in 2016, where Canada Customs and the arrivals area are on the ground level. Give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there.

For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.

A ski party flying in from Europe or the United States clears customs and collects skis with the rest of its luggage before reaching the exit. Because the pickup follows the landing time, that part of the arrival is already allowed for.

Arriving at Your Address in Banff

Banff is a small town, and most hotels sit along Banff Avenue or on the slopes above it. The Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, on Tunnel Mountain, holds its conferences in over 60 rooms of different sizes, up to 700 people. Some visitors stay in Canmore instead, just outside the park, 27 km from Banff.

Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. For a lodge on a hillside road or a hotel with a separate conference wing, add the building or entrance name.

Lake Louise is 58 km further west. A car can drop you at the Lake Louise Park and Ride, but Moraine Lake Road is closed to private vehicles all year, and only Parks Canada shuttles, licensed commercial vehicles with 11 or more seats and lodge guests may use it.

From Banff Back to Calgary International Airport

On the return, count the drive rather than the clock: 1 hour 35 minutes to 2 hours 10 minutes from Banff to the terminal, more after a snowfall or on a Sunday afternoon in summer. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

The car goes to the building on your ticket, Domestic or International. Calgary has US preclearance, so passengers on US flights go through it inside the International Terminal. With US preclearance, you clear US customs before boarding a flight to the US.

For an early flight, a pickup in Banff can mean a pre-dawn start, and in winter, mountain weather makes an earlier pickup the safer choice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your airport transfer with Bookinglane.

Can my pet travel with me from Calgary airport to Banff?

Yes, if you select the pet option when booking. All pets must be in a crate or carrier.

Can I ask for a quiet ride from Calgary airport to Banff?

A quiet ride can be selected in the booking form.

My flight into Calgary airport is late: does the pickup for Banff still work?

Yes. The chauffeur follows your flight, so the pickup follows the actual landing. Complimentary waiting time is included with airport pickups and is counted from the actual landing, which leaves room for customs and baggage claim.

Do I need a park pass to get to Banff?

Yes, if you stay in Banff or stop anywhere in the park, as the town lies inside Banff National Park. Only a drive straight through on the highway needs no pass. A Family/Group pass covers up to seven people arriving in one vehicle.

Our ski group arrives with lots of equipment — what should we book?

Count people and bags together. Enter the number of bags in the booking form; for skis, golf bags or other bulky items, tell support so the vehicle is matched to the load. A Sprinter van takes up to 12 passengers, and larger groups go by coach.

What do you need to know about Calgary International Airport in 2026–2027?

YYC finished replacing its west runway in November 2025 and is bringing its three security checkpoints together in one place in the Domestic Terminal. Around Banff, Lake Louise opens the new Richardson's Ridge area for the 2026–27 ski season.
