Airport Transfers from London Heathrow Airport (LHR) to Ruislip

Trusted by professionals at
One-Way Transfer
A one-way transfer covers one journey between two addresses: Terminal 2 to a house near West Ruislip station, Terminal 3 to a flat by Ruislip Gardens, or a home close to the Lido to Terminal 4 for an evening departure. For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time; for a departure, you set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: Terminal 5 to a family home near Ruislip Manor when you land for the summer, and the same terminal again on the day you fly back. In the school holidays, cars across Hillingdon are reserved well ahead. With both directions in one booking, the return is secured from the start; you set both pick-up times yourself, and the confirmation lists them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for a set number of hours. When you book, you set the start at LHR, the final address and the hours you need, and you add the day's plan to the reservation so the chauffeur has it before your flight lands. It suits an arrival day with appointments, not a straight run to one hotel.

London Heathrow Airport to Ruislip: Route and Drive Time

Heathrow and Ruislip belong to the same London borough, Hillingdon: the airport lies in its south, Ruislip in its north. The ride between them is 9 miles, normally 30–40 minutes, and it stays in the outer suburbs the whole way, well clear of central London.

What decides the final stretch is which part of Ruislip you are going to. Five stations carry the name. South Ruislip and Ruislip Gardens are on the southern side, towards RAF Northolt; Ruislip and Ruislip Manor sit in the middle; West Ruislip is at the western end, where Chiltern Railways trains stop. The Lido and the woods are further north, beyond the shops.

Journey times vary with traffic and weather. Your booking should carry the terminal, the street and the house number, especially if you live on one of the quiet closes off the main roads.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at London Heathrow Airport

Heathrow has four passenger terminals, 2, 3, 4 and 5, and they are far apart, so give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there. Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks.

For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules.

On a ride as short as this one, passport control and baggage reclaim may take longer than the drive home. There is no reason to rush through them: the pick-up follows your landing, not the timetable. Terminal 4 is the exception to the usual car-park collection: its multi-storey is being redeveloped, so since June 2026 drivers there use a designated zone instead.

Arriving at Your Address in Ruislip

Ruislip is mostly a place of homes. It belonged to Middlesex until 1965, and it grew once the Metropolitan Railway reached it.

The northern side is green. The Lido, once a reservoir, is now a public park with its own miniature railway, and beyond it stretch Ruislip Woods, made up of three named woods: Park, Copse and Mad Bess. Manor Farm, the local heritage site, keeps a Great Barn from around 1280. Grosvenor Vale, where Wealdstone FC play their home games, is also in Ruislip.

Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. If you are staying with family on a cul-de-sac near the woods, the house number and postcode matter more than the district name.

From Ruislip Back to London Heathrow Airport

For the trip back, think of the drive itself: 30–40 minutes on an ordinary day, more in the weekday morning peak. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

At Heathrow, the departure terminal decides where you are set down. Check the terminal on your ticket and put it in the booking, together with the flight number.

On the Ruislip side, two things can slow the first minutes of the ride: the school run on weekday mornings and, when Wealdstone FC are at home, the roads around Grosvenor Vale before and after the match. If your flight leaves on such a day, choose an earlier pick-up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your airport transfer with Bookinglane.

Heathrow to Ruislip: how many minutes by car?

Ruislip is 9 miles by road, normally 30–40 minutes by car, from the Heathrow terminals. Both are in the London Borough of Hillingdon, so the route stays in the suburbs and never enters central London.

My flight into Heathrow is delayed. Do I need to rebook?

No. The chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time, and a late landing just shifts the pick-up. Should the airline switch you to another flight, put its number in the booking.

Where at Heathrow does the chauffeur collect me?

At your arrival terminal. Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules.

Is Ruislip inside the ULEZ?

Yes. Ruislip lies within Hillingdon, a London borough, and the Ultra Low Emission Zone covers every London borough around the clock. The rules and current rates of each charge are published by the authority or airport that runs it.

Can a van take our whole family and the luggage from Heathrow to Ruislip?

Yes, for up to 12 people with their bags; a larger party goes by coach. Enter the number of bags in the booking form; for golf bags, bikes or other bulky items, tell support so the vehicle is matched to the load.

What do you need to know about London Heathrow Airport in 2026–2027?

Since 25 June 2026, trains have served only the Terminal 4 and Terminal 5 stations, after the Terminals 2 and 3 station closed. Heathrow will hold a public consultation on its expansion plans from 27 October to 22 December 2026.
