London Heathrow Airport to Potters Bar: Route and Drive Time
Potters Bar lies in Hertsmere, a Hertfordshire borough, just beyond the northern edge of Greater London. It belonged to Middlesex until 1965. Junctions 23 and 24 of the M25 serve the town, and Heathrow sits close to the same motorway on the western side of London, so most of the ride is spent on the orbital road.
The drive is 35 miles, normally 1 hour to 1 hour 25 minutes. Leaving the motorway, the car follows the A1000, the old Great North Road, into the town, or turns off towards Northaw and the Oshwal Centre on the eastern side.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. The M25 carries the whole journey, so a slow section anywhere on the north-western arc of the motorway adds directly to your time.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at London Heathrow Airport
Heathrow has four terminals, numbered 2 to 5. Give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there. Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules.
There is a public transport link of sorts: the Piccadilly line runs from Heathrow right across London to Cockfosters, its last stop, a few miles south of Potters Bar. The ride is long, with no luggage space to speak of, and the last stretch still needs a car or a bus, which is a lot to ask of a family with suitcases after a long flight.

Arriving at Your Address in Potters Bar
Potters Bar is a commuter town of houses and quiet roads, with its centre on the A1000 and the station on the East Coast Main Line, served by Great Northern trains to King's Cross and Moorgate.
Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. A few addresses draw visitors on their own: the Wyllyotts Centre, home to a theatre, a cinema and the local museum; the Furzefield Centre with the public pool; and the Oshwal Centre, a Jain temple and community centre between Potters Bar and Northaw.
Students of the Royal Veterinary College also live in the town. If you are moving into a shared house at the start of the year, add the house name or flat number to the booking notes.

From Potters Bar Back to London Heathrow Airport
The return takes 1 hour to 1 hour 25 minutes on a normal day, nearly all of it on the M25. Plan by the drive, and add time on weekday mornings. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
The terminal goes in the booking; Heathrow's four are a long way from each other. SkyTeam airlines use Terminal 4 as a rule, and since 23 June 2026 Terminal 4 has worked with a separate pick-up area, so arrivals there should read their confirmation closely.
Whether you join the M25 at Junction 23 or 24, the time depends on the motorway itself, so on a Friday afternoon before a bank holiday, set the pick-up earlier.
