Airport Transfers from London Heathrow Airport (LHR) to Claremont

One-Way Transfer
A one-way transfer covers one journey between two addresses: Terminal 3 to a boarding house at Claremont Fan Court, Terminal 4 to the National Trust garden for a visit, or a family home in Esher to Terminal 5 at half-term. For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time; for a departure, you set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: Terminal 5 to Claremont Fan Court when term begins, then back to Terminal 5 for the holidays, or Terminal 2 to a hotel in Esher for a race weekend at Sandown and out again on Monday. With both directions in one booking, the return is secured from the start; you set both pick-up times yourself, and the confirmation lists them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for a set number of hours. When you book, you set the start at LHR, the final address and the hours you need, and you add the day's plan to the reservation so the chauffeur has it before your flight lands. It suits an arrival day with appointments, not a straight run to one hotel.

London Heathrow Airport to Claremont: Route and Drive Time

Claremont lies just south of Esher town centre, in the Surrey borough of Elmbridge, and south of Heathrow. The ride from the terminals is 18 miles, normally 45 minutes to 1 hour 5 minutes, and the route crosses the Thames on the way south.

Claremont is two neighbouring places with separate entrances. Claremont Landscape Garden is run by the National Trust, and Claremont Fan Court School occupies the Palladian house that Clive of India had built, right next to it. Esher's high street and Sandown Park racecourse are just to the north.

Journey times vary with traffic and weather. When you book, say which you need, the school, the garden or a private house, and add the full address.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at London Heathrow Airport

Heathrow has four terminals in use, 2, 3, 4 and 5. Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks. Heathrow is consulting on moving some airlines between terminals, so read the terminal from your current ticket, not an old trip, and give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there.

On landing, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules.

For a pupil flying back to school alone, put the pupil's own flight number in the booking, and the pick-up follows that flight.

Arriving at Your Address in Claremont

The National Trust garden ranks among the first landscape gardens made in England; its lake has a pavilion on an island, and a turf amphitheatre rises above the water. The school next to it fills the old Claremont house, and the homes around them belong to Esher, a short drive from its station and shops.

Garden visitors and school traffic use different gates, so send the full address with the booking and we will tell you how close the car can go. For a boarding pupil, add the house or building name.

If you land in the morning before a school event or a garden visit, you can be driven to your hotel in Esher first and arrive without the cases.

From Claremont Back to London Heathrow Airport

For the return, think of the drive's length: 45 minutes to 1 hour 5 minutes on a normal day. School-run hours on the Portsmouth Road can slow the first part of the trip, before the car reaches the A3 or the M25. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

At the airport, the car goes to the terminal on your ticket. Put the departure terminal in the booking, as Terminal 5 and Terminal 4 are reached separately from the central pair.

Sandown Park, next to Esher station, holds the bet365 Jump Finale on 24 April 2027. On a race day, give the trip to Heathrow extra time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your airport transfer with Bookinglane.

How far is Claremont, Esher, from Heathrow?

Claremont is 18 miles from the terminals, normally 45 minutes to 1 hour 5 minutes by car. Mention the school, the garden or the house you need.

My child's flight back to school is delayed. Will the car still meet it?

Yes: the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time, so the new arrival time is covered. The flight number you entered is what the chauffeur watches.

Where at Heathrow does a pupil meet the chauffeur?

At the arrival terminal. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules. Heathrow does not allow pick-ups on the terminal forecourts; collections take place from the terminal car parks.

Is Claremont the school or the garden?

Both share the name. Claremont Landscape Garden belongs to the National Trust, and Claremont Fan Court School is in the mansion next door; each has its own entrance and drive on the southern edge of Esher. Name the one you need in the booking.

Can relatives coming for speech day travel together?

If they share a flight, yes: a Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats. Relatives on different flights each need a transfer, and all of them can sit in one account.

What do you need to know about Claremont in 2026–2027?

Elmbridge, with Esher and Claremont, moves to a new unitary authority, East Surrey Council, on 1 April 2027. Sandown Park's bet365 Jump Finale is on 24 April 2027, and the airport's expansion consultation is open to the public from 27 October to 22 December 2026.
