London City Airport to Benfleet: Route and Drive Time
Benfleet belongs to Castle Point, a small Essex borough facing the Thames estuary, between Basildon and Southend-on-Sea. By road Benfleet lies 29 miles away, a drive of normally 1 hour to 1 hour 25 minutes, with the A13 carrying the car east out of London for most of the way.
The borough has several parts, and the address decides the final miles. Benfleet itself and its station are by Benfleet Creek; Thundersley lies on the higher ground to the north; Hadleigh, with its castle ruins over the marshes, is to the east; Canvey Island sits across the creek to the south. Journey times vary with traffic and weather.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at London City Airport
London City's one terminal has no kerbside collections for booked cars: Benfleet passengers are met in the Short Stay car park instead.
Once you have taken off, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules.
If you travel with a bike box or other bulky sports kit, tell support before the flight. A standard saloon may not take it, and a larger vehicle can be sent to the terminal instead.

Arriving at Your Address in Benfleet
Olympic riders raced at Hadleigh Farm in 2012, and its mountain-bike course is about 3 miles from Benfleet, 15–20 minutes by car. Hadleigh Castle, a ruin looking over the estuary, is close to it. For either, name the site and the entrance you want.
Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. Canvey Island has its own roads and estates beyond the creek, and Thundersley is a separate area too, so the full street and house number matter. Benfleet station, on the c2c line, is the obvious meeting point in town.

From Benfleet Back to London City Airport
The return is a drive of 1 hour to 1 hour 25 minutes, so set the pick-up by that length and add a margin on weekday mornings, when the A13 carries commuters towards London. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
From Canvey Island, the car first has to come back over the creek, so give your island address rather than a Benfleet one.
The airport closes at 12:30 on Saturdays. Riders flying home after a weekend on the Hadleigh trails should pick a Saturday morning or Sunday plane.
