Leeds Bradford Airport to Leeds: Route and Drive Time
Leeds Bradford Airport sits on high ground at Yeadon, north-west of Leeds, and the drive from the terminal down to the city centre is 9 miles, normally 35–50 minutes. Nine miles is short, yet the route follows the A65 and the ring road rather than a motorway, so the clock reads more than the mileage would suggest.
Where the ride finishes is set by your address. Offices fill the zone from the station down to the River Aire, the two universities occupy the north side of the centre, and Headingley, with its cricket and rugby ground, is passed on the way in from the north-west. The first direct Arena, a concert venue, stands north of the centre.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. The airport stands on high ground, so snow or fog in winter can slow the climb to Yeadon.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Leeds Bradford Airport
Leeds Bradford has one terminal for every flight; 4.45 million passengers used it in 2025. In June 2025 a new three-storey extension opened; the older building is now being refurbished, with completion expected in winter 2026. The Pick Up & Drop Off car park next door to the terminal is where passengers are set down and collected.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pick-up around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pick-up rules.
No railway line reaches the airport, so the onward trip to Leeds is by road. While the works continue, signs and walkways inside the terminal may change, which is one more reason to follow the meeting details in your confirmation.

Arriving at Your Address in Leeds
Law firms, banks and professional-services offices make Leeds a business city, and its hotels gather near the station and along the river. Wellington Street, on the west side of the centre, has offices within walking distance of the platforms.
If your hotel is on a pedestrian street or close to the arena, send the full address with the booking and we will tell you how close the car can go.
If you go on by train after landing, Leeds station is one of the busiest in the country, with trains to London King's Cross, Manchester and York, and the car can take you there instead of to a hotel.

From Leeds Back to Leeds Bradford Airport
For the trip back up to Yeadon, think in journey length: 35–50 minutes in normal traffic, longer when the ring road and the A65 fill at peak times. You set the pick-up time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
There is only one terminal, so every departure goes to the same building whichever airline you fly; the main carriers there are Jet2, Ryanair and TUI.
Arena nights and the Leeds Festival weekend add traffic. The festival is held at Bramham Park, north-east of the city, from 26 to 29 August 2027, which is also a bank holiday weekend. For a flight in those days, start early.
