Stuttgart Airport to Heilbronn: Route and Drive Time
Heilbronn lies 79 km north of the airport, 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes by car. The route uses motorways almost all the way, the A8 and then the A81 northwards, before the A6 and the B27 lead into the city. Roadworks or heavy traffic on the A6 are what stretch the drive towards the longer figure.
Three kinds of address are common at the end. The Bildungscampus lies right next to the city centre on a former industrial site. The Innovation Park Artificial Intelligence (IPAI) is being built for around 5,000 people. Audi's Neckarsulm plant lies beyond the city, 7 km further north, 15–20 minutes from the centre, so a plant visit adds a short extra leg.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. Your booking should show the flight number and the precise address; for the campus, add the building.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Stuttgart Airport
Arrivals at STR come out at one of four terminals. Terminals 1, 2 and 3 are joined under one roof, and Terminal 4 has its own building a short walk away, so give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.
A delegation can reach STR from many places: in 2025 the airport offered 124 destinations in 40 countries. With more than an hour on the road ahead, it is worth listing anything that affects the ride: a child seat, or bulky luggage such as display boards for a conference. The vehicle is then chosen before you land, and nothing has to be repacked once you are on the motorway.

Arriving at Your Address in Heilbronn
Heilbronn's newest addresses are about learning and research. The Bildungscampus, built since 2010, brings together parts of the local university and outposts of two big names, TU Munich and ETH Zurich. Construction of the IPAI started with a groundbreaking in October 2025, with the first buildings expected from 2026; a visitor heading there should give the precise site address, as parts of the park are still under construction.
In the old centre, the Marktplatz around the town hall hosts the Weindorf every September. The Hauptbahnhof stands about 1 km west of the centre and is served mainly by regional trains, with few long-distance ones.
Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. For Audi in Neckarsulm, add the gate or visitor centre to the address.

From Heilbronn Back to Stuttgart Airport
On this route the length of the drive is the figure to plan with: from Heilbronn to the terminals it takes 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, and more if the A6 or the A81 is congested. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it. Give your departure terminal as well; Terminal 4 has its own entrance.
On the city side, the Weindorf in September is the main factor. It fills the Marktplatz for ten days and brings up to 300,000 visitors, so the streets around the centre are busy into the evening. Leaving from a hotel near the Marktplatz in that week needs a margin.
A researcher whose last meeting is at the Bildungscampus can be collected there and go straight onto the motorway, rather than returning to the hotel first.
