Paderborn Lippstadt Airport to Paderborn: Route and Drive Time
The airport is at Büren-Ahden, in open country south-west of the city, and Paderborn is 19 km away by road, normally 25–35 minutes. There is no motorway on this route: the car follows the L776 and the L813 through fields and villages before it reaches the city's outskirts.
Inside the city, the destination sets the last few minutes. The cathedral, the Kaiserpfalz and the springs of the Pader are in the middle of the old town. The university campus lies to the south of the centre, and the Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum is on Fürstenallee. Business addresses at firms such as Diebold Nixdorf, Benteler, Claas or Siemens are spread across the city and its edges.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. With the full street address in the booking, the chauffeur can take the shortest way in.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Paderborn Lippstadt Airport
PAD has a single terminal, so every flight, from a holiday charter out of Antalya to the morning service from Munich, arrives in one building, and there is no terminal to specify.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.
The Munich link is worth knowing about for business trips. Since 1 September 2025, the Munich route has been operated by DAT for skyhub PAD, which is backed by businesses in the region, up to three times a day. A visitor changing at Munich from a long-haul flight can therefore land 19 km from a meeting in Paderborn rather than drive in from a larger airport.

Arriving at Your Address in Paderborn
Paderborn's old centre grew up around water: over 200 springs feed the little river Pader right beside the cathedral, with the restored imperial palace, the Kaiserpfalz, close by. For a hotel or a meeting in the old town, the cathedral is the landmark to give.
The city is also home to about 20,000 students and to several technology companies. The Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum on Fürstenallee calls itself the world's biggest computer museum and hosts conferences and company events, so it can be the address for a business arrival as much as for a visit.
Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. For the university or a company site, add the building or the entrance named in your invitation.

From Paderborn Back to Paderborn Lippstadt Airport
For your flight, plan by the drive itself: 25–35 minutes from the centre to the terminal at Büren-Ahden on an ordinary day. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
PAD has only the one terminal building, so the drop-off needs no further detail.
On the city side, the busy time is Libori, the festival in honour of St Liborius, whose relics came to Paderborn in 836. It is held in July, with a fair, services and processions, and the streets around the cathedral fill with visitors, so a pickup from a hotel in the old town needs extra time. The same applies if your summer holiday flight leaves during Libori, and a meeting that ends at a company site on the edge of the city avoids the crowd altogether, with no need to cross the old town.
