Paderborn Lippstadt Airport to Gottingen: Route and Drive Time
Göttingen is 137 km east of the airport, and by car the trip takes 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes. The route has two long motorway sections: the A44 eastwards into northern Hesse, then the A7 north along the Leine valley. Traffic on the A7, one of Germany's main north–south routes, largely decides where in that range the drive ends up.
The final part depends on what kind of address you have. The university's institutes, libraries and clinics are spread across the city rather than on one campus, so a visiting professor may stay on one side of town and teach on the other. The old town around the Marktplatz is in the middle, with the station just to its west.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. Put the full address, including the institute or building, into the booking.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Paderborn Lippstadt Airport
PAD, near Büren between Paderborn and Lippstadt, is a one-terminal airport. Whether you land on a holiday flight or on the service from Munich, you leave through the same doors, so there is no terminal to name.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.
For academics travelling from overseas, PAD can be the last stop of a longer journey: DAT flies to Paderborn from Munich up to three times a day for skyhub PAD. After a long-haul flight and a change, the drive to Göttingen is about two hours in one car with the luggage, rather than a train journey with changes.

Arriving at Your Address in Gottingen
The Georg-August University opened in 1737 and is the oldest and largest in Lower Saxony; roughly one in five of the 130,000 people living in the city is a student. A research stay therefore usually means an address at an institute or a guest house, and both are best given with the building name.
At the heart of the medieval town, down in the Leine valley, stand the Old Town Hall and the Gänseliesel fountain, and cars are kept out of the lanes around them. When you are staying in that area, send the full address with the booking and we will tell you how close the car can go.
ICE trains on the Hanover–Würzburg high-speed line stop at Göttingen, so a colleague joining you by ICE can be met at the same address as part of the plan for the day.

From Gottingen Back to Paderborn Lippstadt Airport
Count back from the departure time using the drive: 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes from the centre of Göttingen to the terminal, and more if the A7 or the A44 is congested. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
PAD has a single terminal, so no detail is needed at the airport end. If you leave from the university medical centre, give Robert-Koch-Straße 40; it has about 1,634 beds, a bus stop called Klinikum and an exit of its own, Göttingen-Nord, on the A7.
On the Göttingen side, the Handel Festival in May fills the old town with concertgoers for about two weeks. A guest house in those lanes means a short walk to the car on any day, and on festival days extra minutes for leaving the centre.
