Nuremberg Airport to Erlangen: Route and Drive Time
Erlangen lies north of the airport, and the B4 links the two directly: 18 km, normally 25–35 minutes by car. The road keeps clear of Nuremberg's centre, so the city's traffic plays little part; the morning and evening commute along the B4 is what moves the time within that range.
Business trips mainly end at one of a few large addresses. Siemens has no larger site anywhere than its campus in Erlangen, a whole new district built on old research grounds, and Siemens Healthineers has its headquarters in the city. Both are spread over several buildings, so the module or the company unit you are visiting belongs in the address.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. Add your flight number, the building and your host's company name when you book.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Nuremberg Airport
NUE grew strongly in 2025, with 11.9 per cent more passengers than the year before and a record of 4,508,765 in total. Scheduled and low-cost flights accounted for about 2.8 million of them, the share most relevant to a business visitor bound for Erlangen.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.
The U2 underground connects the terminal with Nuremberg Hauptbahnhof, but Erlangen lies in the opposite direction, so going by rail means travelling south first and then taking a train back north. A car on the B4 avoids that detour, which helps with a laptop bag and demonstration equipment.

Arriving at Your Address in Erlangen
Around 16,000 people work for Siemens on the Siemens Campus Erlangen. The last building, Module 8, opened in July 2026, which completed the new district. Other Siemens businesses, among them Siemens Mobility and the Digital Industries and Smart Infrastructure units, also work from Erlangen, so one visit can take in more than one company of the group.
If your host has given you a module, a gate or a reception desk, give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. The same applies at the Siemens Healthineers headquarters.
ICE trains on the high-speed line between Berlin and Munich call at Erlangen station. A colleague coming by ICE can meet you at the campus, or the car can collect you both at the station on the way.

From Erlangen Back to Nuremberg Airport
The drive back to NUE takes 25–35 minutes, so plan by that length rather than by the clock, and allow for the commuter traffic on the B4 at the end of the working day. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
The city has one large festival with a fixed season: the Bergkirchweih, a beer festival held every year for twelve days around Whitsun. In those days a pickup in Erlangen needs a little more time, especially in the evening.
For the university hospital, name the clinic entrance as the pickup point: its clinics stand in the centre, about 1.2 km from the Hauptbahnhof, and parking at the clinics is limited. After a customer day on the campus, the car can collect you at the module where the meeting ended, so you go from the last presentation straight to the terminal.
