Munich Airport to Regensburg: Route and Drive Time
Regensburg lies on the Danube in eastern Bavaria, north-east of the airport, and the transfer does not touch Munich at all. The route is 105 km: east on the A92 towards Landshut, north on the B15n and finally on the A93 into the city, normally 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes. With the airport on the right side of Munich, the usual city traffic plays no part; works on the B15n or the A93 and the arrival in Regensburg itself are what change the time.
In the city, the destination type decides the last few minutes. The old town on the south bank of the Danube, with Stadtamhof on the opposite side, is a UNESCO World Heritage site with controlled access. The BMW plant, the university and the technical university (OTH) lie outside the medieval centre and are reached without entering it.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Munich Airport
The airport's two terminals split the airlines. Terminal 2, which Lufthansa helped to build and which opened in 2003, handles the Lufthansa Group and Star Alliance flights, partly through its satellite; Terminal 1 covers carriers such as Air France, British Airways, Condor and Eurowings. Give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.
The Munich Airport Center joins the two terminals, and an underground train reaches the satellite, which opened in April 2016, in under a minute. A booked car goes to the terminal, not to the satellite.

Arriving at Your Address in Regensburg
Regensburg's medieval old town is protected as a World Heritage site, and the city calms traffic there with retractable bollards and camera checks; delivery vans may use the pedestrian streets in the morning hours only. If your hotel is inside the old town, send the full address with the booking and we will tell you how close the car can go.
Business addresses lie mostly outside that core. The BMW plant employs more than 9,000 people and builds around 350,000 cars a year, among them the X1 and the iX1. Continental, Infineon and Krones also run major sites in the city, and the University of Regensburg and the OTH bring academics and visiting partners. Each of these is a large site with several entrances, so name the gate or the building.

From Regensburg Back to Munich Airport
For the trip back, plan by the length of the drive: 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes from Regensburg to the terminal, more if there are works on the A93 or the B15n. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
Tell us your departure terminal from the ticket. Terminal 2 serves the Lufthansa Group and the Star Alliance, Terminal 1 all other airlines, and the two lie in the same main building.
On the Regensburg side, crowds come twice a year with the Dult on the Dultplatz in Stadtamhof, in May and again from late August into September, and in Advent with the Christmas market at Thurn und Taxis palace. A guest leaving after a day at the BMW plant can be collected at the plant gate on the eastern edge of the city rather than in town.
