Munich Airport to Grobenzell: Route and Drive Time
Grobenzell (Gröbenzell) sits right on Munich's north-western boundary, in the Fürstenfeldbruck district, while the airport is north-east of the city. The car links the two without entering Munich: 45 km on the A92 and the A99, which curves round the north of the city, normally 45 minutes to 1 hour. Traffic on the A99 decides whether you arrive nearer the lower or the upper figure.
The town itself is mainly residential, about 20,000 people living in one of the most densely populated municipalities in Germany. It grew up around its S-Bahn station, so many addresses are in quiet streets of houses on either side of the railway, and the small business area lies on the eastern side, towards Lochhausen. The municipality itself dates only from 1952, when parts of Munich, Puchheim, Olching and Geiselbullach were merged.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Munich Airport
The airport has two terminals in one main building, joined by the Munich Airport Center with its shops and restaurants. Relatives flying in with Lufthansa or another Star Alliance airline arrive at Terminal 2; a family on Condor, Eurowings or British Airways arrives at Terminal 1. Give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.
The rail route means the S-Bahn into Munich and then the S3 out to Grobenzell. With grandparents, children and a pushchair, that change in the city is the hard part. If someone else is collecting the guests, book in their name and share the confirmation with them.

Arriving at Your Address in Grobenzell
A trip to Grobenzell that ends at a private house keeps the arrival simple. Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. In narrow residential streets, a house set back from the road or a shared driveway is worth a short note in the booking.
The station forms the middle of the town; S3 trains run from here into central Munich in about 20 minutes. The old level crossing on Kirchenstraße is gone, and an underpass on Freyastraße now takes road traffic across the railway. For a family celebration, a guesthouse or a restaurant in the town can be the destination instead of the home address.
If the visit includes outings, the transfer from the airport can just as well end at a holiday flat elsewhere; the booking simply names that address.

From Grobenzell Back to Munich Airport
For the flight home, work back from the departure using the drive itself: 45 minutes to 1 hour from Grobenzell to the terminal, longer when the A99 is busy in the morning or evening. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
The terminal printed on the ticket is the one to give. Terminal 2 serves Lufthansa and its Star Alliance partners, Terminal 1 most other airlines, and the car drives up to the terminal you name.
Families leaving after a long stay often travel with more luggage than they arrived with. Mention extra cases or a folded pushchair in the booking, so the vehicle is chosen with enough room. On Fridays the weekly market fills the Rathausstraße in the centre, so for a pickup near it, name the street and house number.
